yeah was thinking of actually bolting in the brace's for now but since the wagon is still in the "mock up" non moving stage i am not to woried about the parts shifting out of alignment
-
.. um yeah.. leftwards and right wards... hehhe the same directions i am guessing the stock lower rad mount will support.. hehe but actually thanks.. its a step i the right direction and since what i want to do is less extreme as a h6 install.. but prolly just as usefull... any cooling issue's you have come across by choping the lower rad suport/ air guide thing? and doing your own
-
is it me or does the term "shock dyno" just sound so cool that you need to repeat it?
-
so umm yeha .. is there any reason why i cannot cut out the lower radiator mount? so long as i put my own bracing there to tie the front fenders together again... i do notice that part of the front bracing acts like a air wedge thingy... to help put air into the radiator... just.. having a brain storm.. or something .. i see the front crossmember seems to do most of the structural reinforcing witht he radiator lower mount being like a secondary support o keep the fenders from flapping in the breeze.. anyone got a good reason why i should not cut that out and do my thing.. and then make a new brace out of 1/4 thick by 1.5" or so wide steel strap? i would mention what my thing is i want to do.. but i don't wanna get anyone's hopes up yet.. oh yeah.. perhaps i did mention it.. in some other post. who knows

cool i'll take what ever bits and pieces you can spare i got other things that will need servo op also like a lcd display slider thingy btw after lots of pondering and rediscovering those things called hood pins i am gonna attempt to wedge the fmic and radiator that i have here from a saab 9000 into the wagon.. hehe -
hmmpf pretty sure i was there.. not sure wtf number i was .. heheh

not to out do you or anything .. but your hood pins give me a idea.. that i think i will try and adapt this ol saab 9000 radiator and bigazz fmic into the wagon .... oddd.. i forgot all about useing hood pins for so long.. so now i can contemplate cutting the hell out of my front radiator/hood latch thing w00t ps... thats some dam good work there -
This just ain't right

...sooo why not make it a just a rear wheel drive thingy... and for cooling hmm lets see... oh i know get one of those "roof" scoop things hack a hole in the roof make some sheet metal ducting or something and put the radiator in the back.. or the relocate of the firewall trick might be nifty extend the steering enough so it puts you almost in the back seat ... -
for now this is just to make sure the basics of hte box works afterwards you can hook up the other stuff where did you blot he knock sensor to? it might be picking up "background" noise and thus the box keeps it boosting low..
-
disconnect the knock sensor <if its hooked up> and the rpm/tach feed tot he apc off the coil all it will work off then is the input from the pressure transducer then it functions a purely boost based controller that should help you narrow i down to either a bad ground... not enough power to the unit or a crappy transducer they are picky about getting enough power i forget if i mentioned how mine is wired but i used the + side of the coil to trip a relay to provide full batt voltage direct to the apc when the ignition is on.. its how my megasquirt turns on also
-
yeah i plan on building a co2 system for my car also... since hell i work withthe dam stuff and can prolly fill my own bottles when no one is looking at work hehe 2 120 ton lco2 tanks and one 50 ton tank.. weeee i already got a bottle scale that was used for freon.. until i liberated it .......
-
swap out the headlight motors for some large scale r/c servo's and look online for a "controller" to run them then you can program it for winking wiggleing ect

Help...Manifold Silicone Gasket
oddcomp replied to Bro's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i personally use the copper spray gasket sealer stuff on any kind of gasket i install plus its high temp enough to use on exhaust flange gaskets and its sticky enough to helpt he gaskets stay ion place while your working it leaves a nice thin sealing coat on the gaskets and it helps fill in small imperfections -
woomp here i am ... or something

Time to build a killer motor
oddcomp replied to Do It Sidewayz's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
hell of alot better than i coulda said o wet one and from what i know o ringing involves cutting a groove around the cylinder and then installing a wire of some size jast just a few thousandth of a inch above the deck surface btw since we are talking about killer motors the vnt turbo is sposed to arrive on the 7th... wootness now to find someone to weld cast iron or i can attempt it i spose -

i just saw a subaru "gf" 5speed front wheel drive... didn't know they even made those at first i thought it was a old celica almost hmmm anyone else seen these things?..wonder if you could 4wd it and drop a ea82t in it hmm... looks pretty light
-
soo... my question becomes.. if this is the new rally/sti standard... does that mean that the production sti's will also start doing the "4 bolt" pattern thus spurring the rim industry to start makeing after market rims instead of us po'folk having to daydream of importing them ?
