i need to know how much people plan on bringing so i can adjust the amount of large rolling coolers and dry ice accordingly to the beer supply .. also unless people want totally frozen beer the dry ice will need a fairly good layer or regular ice over it i plan to save up enough for like 8 or so bags of regular ice to cover the dry ice but if anyone wants to chip in that would be cool -
the hardest part is prolly just fiddling with the tuneing as that what kinda takes teh longest next to building the box i built mine in about 4 or so days a couple hours at a time in the mornings after work half blitzed and it works

i recently learned a little tip from my turbodoge forum for cheap intercooler piping seems alot of those guys run the wire reinforced diesel radiator hose <like 18 wheeler type diesel> much cheaper than silicone stuff

its a putting together thing from when i had it running on msnedis before it ran great but now it will have the spider intake the intercooler and the b.o.v and a 5 speed so i expect it will run even better -
ya could squirt it and use any disty you wanted plus ditch the maf and simplify alot of wiring just my .0000000000002 cents what did you spend on the ecu and stuff?

Optimal Timing for EA82T
oddcomp replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
nope i just let teh knock indicator tell teh ms the motor is pinging and the ms takes it from there kinda like a double fail safe detonation setup -

both before and after and apc does not control timing just boost based on knock -
the nifty junkyard rims i got off a junkyard suby had welds on the inside of the rim that where hitting the brake calipers on the front soo after i put em on a drove happily away from the junkyard i got a nice thunk thunk thunk thunk so on the side of te road i pulled the front tire off and filed down the welds a tiny bit and no more thunk

Optimal Timing for EA82T
oddcomp replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
at 10 psi before i went dis i ran about 1.5 -2 deg below's the stock timing setup non intercooled cheap 87 gas and got almost no ping that i could hear -
i am working on a oddball theory .. but sincei have a turbo dodge minivan it looks like the cam setup is the same . wich means there may be a possibility of having cam follower's with rollers in them ... next junkyard run i will graba few and check if anyone is interested..

hmm i think when i was last at zaps house i blathered on about some kinda idea like that ... wierd..... i have my own idea's on a floating boxed independant suspension setup
-
so you plan on boxing in the rest of that rear frame? i know you have put lots of abuse on that setup and its worked great but maybe i am just a tad on the overbuild it side and get the creepy's when i see the back section of the spring mounts attached to the stock suby body and the front spring mounts on the nifty subframe what with my exceptionally overactive mind i keep seeing visions of bent brat bed dancing in my head

Took the new GL10 for a spin....woohoo
oddcomp replied to pwoens's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
you hear patrick alot huh .... -
it only retards timing when it hears "ping" like from bad gas or overadvanced timing to much boost if its turbo charged what you could do at least for now is to retard the timing a degree or 2 as a failsafe and run it until you can replace it just a idea
-
actually its a 89 caravan se turbo 2.5 and we are all behind ya.. at least until i get mine back on the road then i might be a little closer lol
