  1. it shouldn't bother it.. after all it never see's the same temps a a exhaust valve see's but like lots of things i could be way far wrong...go figure
  2. umm numbers... uhmmm when confronted with math typethings i just usualy find some sharp object and stab at them till it goes away... translation.... me and math are not good friends nore are just plain lonely numbers... or for that matter letters...
  3. yes i would like to make one and toy with it also need to find a 5-10 lb lco2 bottle i can fill and about the dripping.. lets see your northwet... so wet= water water = drips
  4. yeah but if the tiny things are fixed.. it still might not be a bad thing to toy with but then again yeah you would need a free source of liquid co2 hmm i wonder where i could get that from..... hmmm....... dam shame iw ork at a dry ice plant... lol didja look at any of the other "toys" on that page? oh and my own setup the air temp hits 220F at 10-11 psi .. so 220f going into that... i don't think the same thing would occur at least not like what it looks with correctly sized exchanger tubes i dount icing would be a problem oh and might i add here is a towel use it your dripping on my thread hehe
  5. http://cryofuzion.com/products.htm#Interfreezer so what ya think? i think for maf based people a small hack to move the air intake temp sensor might be needed for the ecu to work correctly in fact even for intercooled setups.. i think moving the air temp sensor might help alot
  6. so where exactly is northwest washington... i mean that kinda covers alot of ground right?
  7. hmm to go topless here you better have a good rack to show! hey trucks can have racks to ya know
  8. this actually explains how teh dis system i adapter to my 87 turbp wagon works but the suby dis setup works teh same it just has a cam and crank sensor but the operation is still basically the same http://www.bgsoflex.com/mjl/mjl_edis_summary.html
  9. .50? gap dam i don't even run that on my distributorless ignition even tho i can
  10. why go carby?? why not fuel injection? look at my sig
  11. hmm well i have done my part i have 2 new passengers/eventual drivers .. so wheres my new 7 seat suby? ok 1 new and one 3 year old to be exact 3 year old runs to the suby if we go anywhere and bypasses the turbo van
  12. sounds like a cool show in the planning sadly work and money prevent the "trip" to attend
  13. i think almost any hill that requires first gear to get up suggests a serious lack of power problem/ needs a tune up type of thing.. or dam.. that is a b.f.hill <you figure out the b.f part> granted off road is the exception
  14. uh remote wastegate is more efficient at maintaining boost levels and usually remote gates have the little bolt you turn in to bring up the boost but like integral wastegates they still suffer from the effects of cracking pressure where before the boost psi can overcome the spring tension fully they sorta "crack" open a bit electronic boost controllers overcome that annoyance resulting in faster max boost better response even with out electronic boost controls a remote waste gate is far better than stock integral type.. i mean you don't see any formula 1 cars with a tiny stock integral wastegate do you.... ?
  15. i would go with mxyl.something or other said hehe the maf's may appear the same but chances are in fact i would almost bet money they are calibrated diffrently since a bigger motor will pull more air than a smaller one at he same rpm/ load level
  16. did you happen to reset the ecu? it prolly adjusted itself to work with the old plugged cats also do you know if any of the cat guts broke off? there maybe some stuck in the muffler mmm roasted cat guts.. lol
  17. not having new gen stuff.. but having some reasearch on dis systems for my old school suby i also think sensor problem of some kind not knowing fully how the coil drivers on the 2.2 work .. are they seperate from the ecu? a old needle style volt meter at various points on the ignition path from the ecu to the coil driver<igniter?> will tell the story i should think maybe easier to see if your working solo would be a 12volt l.e.d light from radio shack on some long wires
  18. btw.. the fj15 number you posted.. a search comes back to a porsche 928 v8 injector... yes v8 all the other numbers don't get a useful hit got some side pics of the whole injector?
  19. hmm they don't look like my spider intake injectors.. iw ill double check but pretty sure they do't look like that
  20. and he even put better rims and tires on it!!!!!
  21. the oil and water chambers of the turbo are seperate what your thinking of is the seals between the oil and the compressor or turbine side those can leak oil into the exhaust or intake if they are shot
  22. collant temp sensor has a very large part in how the ecu meters fuel when the motors cold it adds more to compensate for that so if you ahve a bad sensor or a crappy connection then its going to think the motor is cold add excess fuel ect ect how much does the cts affect how a fuel injection ecu runs... well when i did my ms swap i accidently wired the cts wire to the knock sensor.. oops to many wires lol so my ms was showing the motor to be at like -140degf and inturn was just dumping so much fuel into the motor it would hardly run if at all i couldn't even detune the injection enough to compensate for it try grounding your cts wire out.. the ecu will go absolutly nuts and the car will run like crap if it will run at all needless to say i felt really stupid but check the connection or replace the sensor is my vote
  23. wow really?!?!?! thanks cool yay and stuff no sadly i thinnk i will passs for now hell wagon is still in driveway untouched since you dragged it home for me been sick plus other stuff
  24. hmm.. i would back track the injector wiring harness.. and se if it leads to anywhere besides under the dash ... i can't imagine a stock ecu being able to "handle" those injectors correctly and i should know
