Looking for Clark County Subies

that just sounds wrong.... but yeah short roads trips are cool for me 2 .. well i when i get tranny done hopefully this friday next night off so i can work in it at work yay -
wel if ya want a 4speed 2wd tranny ... think its 4 speed hmm manual i don't need the one i have has linkage no tranny support crossmember needs a flywheel and pressure plate will trow in the clutch disc i have for it as well oh and you will need a pilot bearing.. oops and clutch pedal set
-
well i have no idea how the afc stuff works.. but then again i don't need it l as long as it will work then go for it btw shadow is making some custom injector rails that will let you use most injectors styles that do not have the little hose piece on em
-
yes ms is open source think linux but for cars i need to talk more to the guy that i sent jon to about this ej series dis stuff.. i think tey are both forgetting one tiny thing with the original dis system i have the trigger ring i have has 36 teeth and a gap its that gap that the edis module see's and then from that point on the edis unit can tell when teh next ignition event should occur so basically you need the tdc ticks sent to the ms box for ignition and fuel plus one extra point to mark tdc of number one.. i am prolly well for certain the wrong person to actually explain how it sposed to work i would suggest www.msefi.com to learn more and do searches on edis patents.. the patent applications tell how the edis actually works

even if they fit.. and with the afc fooling thingy.. the suby ecu will stil controll them like stock ea82t injectors plus whatever "fooling" you get from the afc also since they dump more fuel during each open than the ea82t.. chances are its going to run rich at idle and off boost and might be just about right on boost the stock ecu will not know that it has bigger injectors with higher flow rates and.. as such it should then shorten the amount of open timer per injection to run them correctly oh yeah .. measure the resistance on the injectors and compare it to stock suby and also check the ej22 resistor block resistance if its all close enough then it should work.. fine minus what i mentioned if the resistance.. err ohm are diffrent then you have the potential of burning out the injector drives in the ecu you can add extra resistor's to correct it

So how long can your car run without coolant?
oddcomp replied to Danbob99's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
heh... just had to ask since i know what my on boost intake temps are -
wll if i can build it and install it and kill a tranny with it.. then its pretty dam easy besides i got most of the hard stuff done you can just start out with my fuel and timing maps
-
after fighting with this tranny change over almost everything has been a problem so far clutch's linkages doj's mounts ect ect i finally get the tranny in and go to put my throwout arm and throw out bearing on and oh.. what a shock... both are the wrong dam size!! so now i am work so dam close to finishing this.. and now this.. almost ready to say i give up so at 8:30 pm in st'helens oregon anyone know where i can get a 4wd 5speed throw out arm and a decent throw out bearing? oh and one of the cropssmember bolts cross threaded to.. over drilled it and put a nice 1/2 inch stud in..

boing i think you are confusing throttle body injection with a air only throttle body he would be running the air only throttle body.. thats all it does is let in air but i could be wrong he may have a throttle body injection setup and that does air and fuel
-
wel you could ditch all the subaru fuel injection controlls ditch the maf sensor keep the throttle body or go to a bit bigger one and drop a megasquirt programmable injection controller on it possibly far easyer than trying to make the car ecu run correctly on a air boat.. plus the megasquirt could be water proofed btw i run one and a tiny bit more..hehehe so.. why not a ea82turbo motor airboat? just wondering

A/F gauge reads full rich, bad O2 sensor?
oddcomp replied to nkx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
what sucks is it was the day after i got of vacation.. car is 30 mile from me at work so i can only work on it on my nights off at work going to hopefully resurect it friday seeing as it will only be me.. gonna take a while -
why use a maf based system? .....
-
hmm i have 2 smallish holley 1 barrel carbs that might work well for that

yeah the sdsefi sytem.. looks lik a pain in the rump roast to tune.. since its all done on the little lcd display ... no computer port to tune it like mine crappy low end idle .. i would guess that it was keeping the injectors open 2 long so the pulse duration was to big. not sure how its done on sdsefi due to the boxer setup i found the smoothest running setup so far to be 2 squirts per revolution operating in alternatting so one bank fires twice then the other bank fires twice made it reallly smoooth .. and its not even tuned yet i killed the auto box jsut after i did my first full ms run.. oops -
looks good to me.. well except it goes from round to square :toyota style maf: and suby is round so outside of a tiny bit of restriction it should work fine oh correction i think the flapper door maf system is square entry and the hot wire is round
-
the cone filter is light enough it does not bang around but i also have a turbo so the turbo rubber intake tube is not very long i only had one maf as well mine is up for sale i don't need it now.. just the maf not the filter
-
twice i seen a bluish legacy wagon cruising past me on highway 30 heading into longview over the rainier bridge... wait till i get my wagon running again see who passes who btw its was about 6:40 ish am that i saw it

for wideband info try www.msefi.com more or less the website for my injection system http://www.diy-wb.com/info.htm do it your self www.sdsefi.com not my choice for going stand alone.. but lots of usefull info -
when i had maf i cut and ground the mounting ears off my hot wire so teh cone filter would slip over the end of the maf ... no adapter looks better and just barely touches the inside fender
