turbo chimney... stock on EA-82t?
oddcomp replied to suberdave's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
leave your o2 where it is and put the egt under the turbo unless of course you like having your o2 readings thrown off by the backpressure from the turbo.. besides egt's are better off closer to the motor anyways but thats just from what i have read so i may be wrong on everything -

ok this is a 86 4dr rx d/r it has the usuall o2 located in the downpipe like all the other ea82t's but it also has a o2 under the turbo but... its not hooked up to anything... any idea's why? it has 2 of them? here is the mystery one you all know what the single o in the downpipe looks like and yes for those with good monitors that is a crack in the wastegate port this turbo also has 1/4" of in and out play but almost no side to side play

well if you can use it i have a aab 9000 turbo throttle body its a bit longer than the stock xt4 spidr intake tb and uses 3 bolts instead of 4 but it is off a 2.0 16v motor so it may breaha bit better email or pm me also if your really into the do ityersilf idea go look for a ford probe turbo i think 2. soming or other and a lot of other mazda cars they have a very nifty prograssive 2 barrel tb should wok grea for off boost economy/reponse and on boost high rpm flow

Project RX: Still not running
oddcomp replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
jus a wild half snookered idea here.... but check your water temp sensor i its not working right the ecu will think that the engien is cold all the time and cause running and idle problems especially after it warms up as it cannot usethe amount of extra fuel its being given... just a thot also a bad or messed up ma will tell the ecu to dump more fuel than it needs check the o2 sensor output voltage ince thats what the ecu uses to make a fuel mapto run the engine not always but alot of the time andeven idle can be afected by what the ecu thinks it see's off the o2 sensor same with the tps if it hs been moved accidenty or even partially bad you may be at idle but the tps tells the ecu its at half throttle and... well it onna run like... $h1t but that is all just my own inebriated first responses to your problems -
oh sure take the easy way out..... i see how you are... but really thanxs

Updated oddcomp's MS n' EDIS fuel/DIS
oddcomp replied to a topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
well i have a small delay i gotta do a clutch on a rx to make some moer money to pay for stuff all i really need to do it bolt the sensor on and wire it up and see if it idles then modify the megasquirt and reprogram it to run the edis so darn close.. but i need money for wire/ metal/ wcss /junk oh and i found out you do not have to be dead on the 10 deg btdc when setting the timing ring and vr sensor as you can account for it in the programming the only bad thing is it lessens the total amount of advance or retard you can program into the system depending on how many degree's your off it will also affect the "something broke" limp mode so as long as your not way far off you can still get home like for instance i am off by 1 degree maybe 1.5 so i can only program in up to i think about 47.5 degree's of ignition advance .. but since have a turbo with 10 psi... i would be a bit stupid to be that far advanced anyways i think when i pull teh crank pulley off for a inspection in a few weeks look for cracked welds and junk i am gonna put it on my carbed ea82 block and refine the sensor mount so its at 10 deg exactly .. i don't have to but.. with all this work i may as well do the best i can -
well i deeply suspect i have at least one bad rear wheel bearing maybe even the other side so how much of a fight should i expect when i go to change it? any tips? alread have the axle nut socket and a 6-foot tall 3 inch diameter pipe to fit on my ratchet <works for all the font nuts i have taken off> so much leverage you just push down with one finger

is it safe to saw this off?
oddcomp replied to avatar382's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i did the same on my s-10 but i used a small portable electric mini band saw meant for metal pipe and stuff worked really quick and smooth then i dressed up the edges of the stud so it did not have sharp edges to potentially start a crack for what ever reason you can rent those little bandsaw's they are made by milwaukie hmm methinks thats spelled wrong but don't cut out your pin hole.. thats bad -
everything i drive clutch auto sube chevy i use 2 feet
