i hapen to have bits of the airreaserch turbo used on older carbed buick grand nationals same thing you talking about essentally 4 barrel adapter plate and the whole turbo actually but the turbo is kinda worn out lotssss of play in it

even better is i know the guy only paid 1500 for the dam thing a few years ago and its mostly been sitting cause of other issues oh well i will look for a rx from a more sane seller i guess or some other form of suby turbo

well the 86 rx i have been working on and off they decided to get rid of it great i offered around 700-800 for it went back to day and they want 2 grand for it... its 86 dual range 5speed overheats has some body dents is it me or are they kinda smoking crack?

hey lumpy if all you want is straight power transfer from that setup go take a peek at some of the "chain " and gear boxes with the solenoid operated front drivesahft disconnect on monster trucks they are not that big and if you have the tools a smaller version could be made and since i don't think you gonna pull a 1000 hp out of it it should hold up well enough

yeah adding cams would be a good idea if it was n/a runnign those lumpy cams ona turbo motor you will losae alot of power cause of valve overlap not enough exhaust rpessure to spint eh turbo up like it should now if possibly you had a set custom ground for your turbo engine by a person or compnay with experience in say turbo vw's? then you might get somewhere

i recently did a cv joint ina 86 rx with a 5speed d/r and used one of my spare 87gl-10 3at turbo axles the tranny side splines are diffrent so i swapped ouptut cups so far they seem to be holding up on that guys car.. its not the best idea but when you don't have enough money you do what you can just make sure ya don't lose any balls.... and add some extra grease since it will lose some in the changeover

back ones are done those where nice and easy hell easier than my s-10 is there a specific name for the turn in tool? or is it just a brake piston turner doohicky? and well i don't smoke i just drink and a bottle of ever clear lasts me about 2 weeks at about a shot a day for breakfast before bed

well doing the 4 corner brake replacement thingy and i got into a argument with front calipers cause of the stupid gotta turn the piston in thing do they actually make a tool to fit those notches? if not anyone got a sketch of something i can make to do the job ? or do i just beat it against my forehead and hope they go in?

ok replacing some cracked and crappy vacum lines on a 86 rx and it looks like someone attempted to re route alot of stuff... anyone have the correct <service manual> diagram for a 86 4 door rx ea82t with the mechanical flapper instead of the hot wire maf? for now i eliminated a bunch of loop de loops in the vacum and it runs better but i know its still not correct

so here i am pulling the intake off this rx and notice a second o2 sensor right below the turbo but not hooked up .... umm wtf ?? anyone got a idea why this has 2 o2 sensors 1 before and 1 after the turbo by the way its a 86

i was under the impression that a lp-gas carb was required to do it correctly

i need to change what appears to be a water leak between the head and the drivers side intake manifold on a 86 rx ea82t what gaskets will i need besides the left and right intake manifold gaskets?

i was at a junk yard a while back looking at subes <what else> and found a turbo wagon with a larger pipe and aftermarket cat on it that was already unbolted and just sitting there someone hacked off the muffler from it and left the downpipe and cat.... needless to say it has a good home now and seems to work a hell of alot better than the stock restritive cat and downpipe..

if your the eletronic type do a google on megajolt its a stand alone dis setup thats d.i.y i have a few of the timing wheels left to make it work well you need to build the controller and go locate a ford 4cyl edis module ..but still anyways
