  1. i already have the outback struts, still need to get the springs, but the info about the fuel lines and stuff is helpfull too....i am gonna have to get the strut tops for the rear springs for an outback first as i am gonna adapt the outback stuff to the legacy mounting point......... should be fun, if you guys have the part numbers hanging around for the outback rad hoses i would appreciate it.........thanks
  2. im looking into building myself a 2inch lift for the legacy.... in doing so, will i need to replace the radiator hoses with a more customized hose? im pretty sure everything else will be fine i just wanted to see if anyone knew so i dont have to mess with it after i get everything installed.....
  3. right now im running outback struts on my 90 legacy wagon and it gave me about 2 inches or so, im running 215/75/15 tires, they rub a smidge at full turn, but other than that its good.... hoping to use the outback springs soon... as its a 90, not a 95+ it should do a little bit of good, maybe not much, but some.. and every little bit counts.....
  4. as crappy as they are, the automatic would be the way to go with that idea...... just come up with a shift kit to make the auto tranny awesome shmawesome.......
  5. well, i cant seem to delete this, so, yeah... if a mod see's this get rid of it please
  6. the reason i suggested the sti center diff is because i have first hand experience with mounting one to a 5mt from a wrx, and also mounting one up to a 5mt for a 2.5rs, so i know it works with the 5mt stuff..... my buddy has been running one on his obs for about 2 years now, and he has a 5mt...... so i dont see why it wouldnt work........
  7. well, since we are all made of money here, why not use an sti center diff? you can technically " lock " it into a 50-50 split, as well as possibly rigging it to do a front wheel/ 4 wheel drive option with the e brake trick....... just a thought... and incase anyone doesnt know, the sti center diff has this cool little feature where you pull the e brake, and it electronically dissconects the center diff and transfers all power to the front wheels...... just rig in a switch so it thinks the e brake is pulled, flip the switch, you got 4wd, flip it the other way, you got fwd........ expensive, but could work.......
  8. i dont actually have a "lift" yet, but i have some ideas, im just a little stumped as to lifting the trailing arms because i dont want a 4 inch lip for things ot get caught on hangin off the bottom of the car in a place where things get caught alot..... any ideas?
  9. wish i could've gone! looks like some innocent fun.... turns out i had a soccer game to go to so i couldn't do the lift... geuss it'll have to be sometime this week. I'll try to post pics when i get a chance....
  10. the reason why i might not be able to make it is that i might be putting in my "front end leveling kit" and i dont know how long that will take..... but i can always try.. i just need a time and a place....
  11. depending on when i might be able to make it this weekend, might not, and also the boss is tryin really hard to get me to work next weekend and its starting to look like i might not have a choice, so that will count me out on the BBQ............:mad:
  12. i would love to show up with the wagon, but it will have to be saturday as sundays dont work for me..
  13. i drive a 90 legacy wagon that has a few things done to it that were pretty cheap but very effective. first, put outback stuts in it. second, bigger tires. i am running 215/75-15's on mine, its a little snug, but after i get the outback springs in, it wont be too bad. anyway, right now im sitting at 11 inches at the bottom of the rear diff. pretty good for not spending much money, after the springs it will be 12"+ at the rear diff making it a go anywhere wagon...... well almost anywhere.... all you have to do is be creative......
  14. as a purely for looks standpoint, id say it looks good.... but as others have noted, you might want to at least reinforce the crap out of the bumper before really trying to use it........but, it does look good..
  15. ok, so on the rear suspension for the legacy there are the two "control arms" and the trailing arm. heres what im lookin to find out. are the trailing arms for the legacy outback longer than the trailing arms on the regular legacy?
  16. ive heard that king springs lift the car some, and you could also go for a larger tire.......
  17. as for the shocks, i would go with the kyb replacement, they seem to be a bit stiffer, but not overly stiff. as far as sway bars go, check out whiteline. i have heard only good things about them......
  18. i just dont like the way the seatbelt sits about 4 inches off my shoulder. im sure it will hold me in case of an accident, but i just dont feel like its doing its job. i much prefer a regular seatbelt........ not to mention im tired of hanging myself when im getting out of my car in a hurry...
  19. but i could just use a seatbelt from a 95 or newer right? or maybe from an ea model?
  20. can i change my automatic seatbelts for regular seatbelts? i have a 90 legacy in case you were wondering
  21. this is just me here, but if i were to make a snorkel out of metal tubing or pvc, i would go 2 1/2 to 3 just to make sure im getting plenty of air to the motor. since my last snorkel kinda choked the motor and it was 2 inch pvc and a shop vac hose......but thats just me...
  22. so heres the deal, i have an intake on my 90 legacy. it comes with a cone filter.... so heres the question, i also have a modified airbox from my durango that will fit the intake, so should i run that or should i run the cone filter and make a seperator to keep the warm engine bay air out of the intake?
