Prodrive Vs. Stromung
offroadsubaruguy replied to caray's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXright now on my legacy wagon im running a borla header with the stromung track pipe ( its a cat delete pipe, gets rid of the first cat ) and a flowmaster muffler with stock mid pipe for now. i love it, really poppy, gets good power and all in all i only spent around $650 for it all......

Give me input for a monster 360
just drop the legacy motor and tranny in it, then have fun!!!

Blue Bomber club car
i would say, weld the diffs, ditch the doors, and anything else not needed, fenders, roof, hatch, any interior that can come out. put a nice cage in it then do a lift and swap over legacy suspension as it works a whole lot better than the stuff on the old wagons.....

90' justy with MPFI, looking to turbocharge.
as for the header, you could look for one off of a chevy turbo sprint. its the same motor, same car even, just made for chevy and it had a turbo on it stock....... if you could find em parts off of one of those would be awesome, and super easy to swap over....

i would just leave it mid rear. in a car that small i dont think you really need awd....

120 hp sounds pretty fun but doesnt the justy only have like 60 hp stock? in order to get that much power you would then need to run 15 psi, which would require you to modify quite alot, but it would be fun..... you might want to get a different fuel pump just for kicks and giggles.....is there an oil pressure sending unit on those motors? if so, i would try to get some oil from there by taking out the sending unit, and then putting in a t junction or something like that...

just stick the intercooler over the tranny, perfect place for it with tons of room......

just do a tube chassis, and go with a 2.5l mounted to a fwd legacy or impreza tranny mounted mid engine. that way you control where the suspension is mounted, what kind of suspension you use, along with everything else... sounds like fun either way...... enjoy.

Ride with 17" rims on 93 Leg Wag?
offroadsubaruguy replied to ericem's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi would avoid them simply because they didnt come off of a subaru, or at leats double check the bolt pattern and the offset... it sounds like he's trying to screw you because if it fit a 92, it should fit any legacy or impreza from 90 up....

Legacy parts interchangeability
offroadsubaruguy replied to foxgap's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi believe that the first body change was in 95...... drivetrain is prettymuch interchangeable for all subarus, exhaust all depends on the motor, and what year

i've been looking for a short throw shifter for my 90 legacy, but i can only find them for 93+. Whats different about the shifter mechanism that would require my car to be a 93? can i still use it?will i have to trade some stuff around?

how's your Outback mileage?
offroadsubaruguy replied to mrfeh's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXtry all of the ignition related parts, plugs and wires, then maybe a new air filter, and run some fuel cleaner through your tank. that should help at least some, but it might just be the car getting old.

going from big to rally style
alright, here goes. i have decided to go from a big trail rig type of car to a more rally style wagon..... any suggestions? im currently running 2 hellas on the front, soon to be 6, im using outback struts with plans of getting lowering springs for a legacy as to drop it back down to stock height but stiffen the ride. hoping to get some white line sway bars, swap in a lsd center and rear diff.. im currently running a 2.2 with the borla header and stromung track pipe ( it deletes the first cat ) with a used to be flow master muffler, now turned into a single chamber muffler as all of the sound deadening material is burned up, and i have a lightweight flywheel, and an intake. so, heres the real question.... what should i do for more power with out going turbo? i was even contemplating making it rwd just for kicks, but havent completely figured that one out yet....... i do have a 2.5 block hanging around, and i was thinking about swaping the crank over to a 2.2 and then using the 2.5 heads and going for an aftermarket cam setup, but would it be worth it to do all that work? or should i just go for a 2.5? gimme any and all info, im open to all ideas here.... thanks guys

cam swap.......
are the 2.2 cams the same length as the 2.5 cams????? in otherwords, can i use a 2.5 cam in a 2.2 head?????

99 2.5rs exhaust into 96 2.2L
im pretty sure that the mid pipe back will work. but the y pipe has two exhaust ports per side as your 2.2 only has one per side, i might be wrong, but i believe that the 95+ only had one port per side..... but everything else should fit just fine.
