  1. I was referring to the block style of lift, the sub frame is a job all it's own, which I plan on after the suspension lift, so I got realistic and logical about,
  2. These are the style blocks I'm trying, 2"×2" 15° off set 1" on center, the block for the most forward mounting hole is to wide and collides with the center of the protruding cap of the strut.
  3. Loyale, your install and advice is the greatest, probably going to by a SJR kit now,I noticed on yours there are two holes next to each other, looks like the same dimension I am having issues with, for the top of the struts. The Subi is going up no matter what lol, one block is to wide, needs to be about a 1" wide, the other two will work, but as I said will either order the kit or fab one like it, thank you sir for your advice and thurough instructions. Now going to grab some pop corn and a brew ???? Cheers
  4. Who if those that say blocks are easy for a lift, probably didn't finish the job, probably puffing on the vape, this spoob is not for the weekend, lots of time and fitting, thought I had all to do, made parts and extras, my problem being placement of holes after following a vice of one that supposedly did a lift, now in the next few weeks I will give info for what has to be done in order to lift a 85 GL. 6. I failed to mention the size I changed over to, 15x8 6x5.5, the inset of the new wheels are about 4" the factory ones are about 5.25" so no rub from the 15x8. Cheers
  7. I don't have much, I just changed mine out on a 85 GL, I was surprised to see the Subaru wheels had 5.25" of inset, what is the +38 ?
  8. I've found them at O'Rylies for around $64 Rock Auto wouldn't be my first choice
  9. Some stuff We can do [url=http://i1204.photobucket.com/albums/
  10. Got the front wheels and tires, going to drill the hubs tomorrow, looked like the Toyota wheels be a good fit, 8" yet 1.25" offset from the factory wheels, hopefully pics Tuesday, at least for the steer tires
  11. I have 2 Hitachi's, one is in great working order, the other just for parts, came off a 85 E82, if you want its yours.
  12. Thanks guys, I also checked out Anderson Fabrication and Design, got a clearer picture of what's to be done. I have a new project now, ☺
  13. Hi all, been reading threads here on ways to lift with tubing. Some say it's a easy project, which is my favorite, however my concern is whether I should lower the running gear. Is it nessasary so I get 10 years out of CV joints as opposed to 6 by not lowering the engine, transmission and rear diff? I plan on a 2" lift. Cheers
  14. Great info, thanks for posting, solves my making adapters for my 85 GL wagon .
  15. Sounds like you will get it fixed and great that you have help doing it, good luck with the move. Your Subi looks sweet by the way and the wheels!
  16. As you can see, hopefully, the casting is not to thin, not saying it couldn't happen, if you can put a sharp piece of steal through it then yes, that's were it's coming from.
  17. I just might be, if price is rite, how much you wanting for it?
