  1. Wow, that's one clean hatch! Now all it needs is a ej22 under that hood

No, but looks like alot of fun!!

    Mudding!

    VERY stuck. Good work!
  4. Yeah, for some strange reason I thought my carbed ea82 wagon was a sports car one minute, then a off-roading machine the next. But, yeah, there be a deffinate drop in performance (acceleration, braking, and cornering) with those 15" steelies VS the stock 13" alloys. I also noticed a difference in acceleration just from switching from 185-80s back to the stock 185-70s tires also. Must be because that engine is on it's last legs.:-\

    Mudding!

    We arizonans don't see that kina mud, but we do get the kind that makes a nice thin film on the paint that only comes off with elbow greese. And of course, Dust! WEEEE!! {cough cough}
  6. Do you have any dead spots turing the wheel one direction than the other? My brother blew a power steering seal on our way to WCSS 8 and after he went muddin in the oregon mud and ran the pump dry a few times, his began doing somthing simular - it has a dead spot one direction, but it responds normally the other. It's a bit squirrly at freeway speeds, that's for sure.
  7. I noticed a difference in handling when I switched from the steel wagon wheels to the alloys on my wagon. Made the car feel "lighter" on it's feet.
  8. Right in my driveway! :-p hehe Ya know you're Subaru struck when you leave your laptop sitting right next to the car and drive off! Leaving the lonely laptop behind! Thankfully, sombody found it and turned it into SVPD and I now have it back. Scary that was, yes!!!!
  9. How come every time I walk outside and see that car of mine my jaw drops?
  10. There are a few in that link to photobucket, I will get a few more up tomarrow afternoon.
  11. A pretty penny, 4800 out the door. No rust, not one bit. I think there might be one other XT in town, but I rarely see it.
  12. Hehe..... 1988 Originally bought in New hampshire, Moved to AZ in late 89, Been in Tucson, AZ since. Spent most of it's time in a garage, BUT has been well taken care of. 4EAT FT 4WD, shifts smoothly, plenty of oomph:burnout: All the goodies WAY too much fun! The rest of the pics: http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j231/subynut/XT6 hehe
  13. Yup, looks like I'll be running the wiring to the cab. Althogh, I might try that extending the wires and put the ECU under a seat idea. That would help keep the underside of the dash clean. I see with the ECU in the spare tire compartment, it's quite crowded. Intristing, this is.
  14. I remember that wagon! That's the one that was tried to catch me on our way to WCSS 7. That was fun.
  15. Answered the question, you did. Best to be puttin in cabin then. Wireing is not a problem for me, just trying to see if I could reduce the amount of wiring, but, if the ECU is gonna cook, best leave in the cabin. Bummer. Thanks guys! Ya know, I remember puttin a temp guage in my air intake back when I still had the original carby and that thing was above 120" F cause it was blinking at me. I think that was during the fall, if I remember correctly....guess that answers that question.
  16. I've been kicking around the idea with my next EJ conversion to instead of putting the ECU inside the cab, how bout putting it in the spare tire compartment? Would it be able to handle the heat of the engine compartment? I can seal it up so water can't get in, but would the heat kill it while humming along on the freeway in the middle of a yuma,az summer? Just an idea:confused:
  17. Looks like the ones I bought, except mine were from autozone. Intristing, that is.
  18. My wagon has kyb gr2s for a 2wd xt on the front and gabriel 4wd 87 year on the rear. They ride very nice and she handles really well on the freeway - handles like 55 at 70.
  19. I put mine in the original sensor's place and then put the original guage in the radiator, however, the dash guage doesn't get very high on the scale cause it's practicly on the bottom of the radiator. :-( Mine runs between 195 and 205 with normal driving and up to 230 when I'm practicing my drifting in the dirt; yes, I back off and point the nose into the wind and let it drop back down again. Doesn't take very long, which is good. I also added an oil cooler and a temp guage on that also - sits about 190 with normal driving and I've seen it as high as 230 when the h2o guage hits the peg of I think 240. I blew both head gaskets the last time I let my engine get that hot.
  20. Hummm....that might be enough to level out me subaru. Try that, I will. Yes......
  21. Well, after rewiring the fuel pump circuit. I started her up. Took some work, but she finnaly started. However I couldn't use more than full throttle - would just die. Hummm....I decided to put my fuel pressure guage in - nothing. Not even a wiggle! Ok, great a clog in the line? What's that running water sound? GREAT DRIFTING SUBARUS!!! I got fuel pouring out of the venturi and pooling down in the throttle bores! A Ha! Me thinks...stuck float? Pull apart the carby. Sure enough, the needle valve assembly worked it's way loose and jammed itself into the bowl assembly. I scewed down, and made sure it was tight this time, the needle valve assembly, reset the float settings, put everything bck together and she runs! Fires up fist try, went for a test drive and I can use full throttle again! Whoo hoo!!:burnout:
  22. Yeah, he hit that a little fast - done that before. Yes, really good running roo. I wonder how fast he was moving?
