  1. Sounds VERY electrical. Check ur connectons and as much of the wiring U can see. Make sure they're tight and no corrosion. I'd start there.
  2. Castrol GTX or Valvoline; for a turbo, 10w-30 is what I've read.
  3. Definatly sounds meaner. Sounds like the throttle response is a little quicker too. Looks good.
  4. Well, took her off road today. Wow, what a differance! I was crawling along around idle with no pedal effort and she just kept on puttin along! THAT'S the kind of torque I was looking for. No more step on the gas, just get over the hump, jump on the binders style of driving. Out on the hiway, she just cruzzes along happy as a lark. I do have a hiccup just as I open the secondary and I had to turn the idle speed in about a turn and a half. So, now it's operation tune the carb. Who's the best place to get a jet kit?
  5. Yup. Fogs are for seeing the road right in front of U whereas the driving lights or pencil beams are for seeing a LONG ways down the road.
  6. Got mine yesterday. Yes, those pics are cool! REALLY wish I coulda gone, BUT Suby had other plans. Anyways... I do have some problems reading the last three directories. They eventually show up after about 20 seconds. Hummm
  7. I'm jumpin off the walls!!! Me suby is back on the road! Yippee!!! Ordered an engine from CCR and FINALLY got it in and running. Biggest hangup was needing parts and having to order them. Like, engine and tranny mounts. Get this: Checker was the only place in town that could get the mounts. BUT the engine mounts took 5 days to get and the tranny mounts took overnight to get. What gives? The other tricky part was getting the ditsy lined up correctly. Anyways, Suby's running again and I no longer have to drive that van anymore. Oh, I suppose U'd like specs. yes? Carbed EA82 longblock, SPFI pistons, decked heads (I forget how much), Delta torque cams, new clutch, and new disty. Oh, and I also put Limited Slip in the rearend too. Now all that's left is exhaust, I'm thinking duals, and tweaking the carb. Took her for test drive around the block and I definetly notice an increace in lowend torque. WOO HOO!! Thanks CCR!!
  8. Noah, U DID get my PM, yes? I thought I put me address in there. Hummmm....
  9. Looks good! REALLY good! :clap:What's all attatched to the frame? Just the transfer case and axels? Or did you mount the engine and tranny to it too? Would like to see some close-ups of that setup, please?
  10. Those are awesome! DEFFINATLY gonna find a way to get up there next year! That looked like fun!
  11. I'll take one! PM'd ya me addy. Check will B in mail tomarrow.
  12. Yes! need mod list!! please please please? oh and don't forget the curb weight too.
  13. Great pic! Hummm desert....looks like my kind of roads. Dusty, dusty and more dusty with a little rock on the side. yes?
  14. Voltage regulator gone haywire? The output should stay roughly at 14 at all rpms except at idle. Then it could be lower, like, around 12v. Dat's my Suby's: Idle: 12v (no accecories), past 1300 rpm: right on 14v.
  15. On that Forester: Manual or auto? If U got beat by a XT, there's somthing wrong with this picture.
  16. Welcome! Nice Suby! I like those hubcaps too. My 86 has 209K miles and I'm currently working on swapping in a new engine.
  17. I outran a toy tundra 3 times in a row: at the light, around a corner (DUH), and up a nice long hill. I finaly let up after I hit the speed limiter. That little toy was about 5 or 6 wagon lenths away. Not bad for a 3500lb car with a 2.5L flat four. EJ25s ROCK! Too bad I kan't get the ricers to race me. I tell 'em: I know of this long and wide road off hiway 80 called Middle March Road. Not too many houses and no blind corners........ as soon as I say dirt, they back out.
  18. Yes, it can be plated over. I tried running without the egr back when I was running the hitachi carby. Really didn't notice any differance in power or throttle response. I did bypass it when I put the Weber in. Still hasn't gotten plated over yet, it's just sitting dormant 4 now.
  19. Delta Camshaft. URL: http://www.deltacam.com They do Suby cams. As far as webers, the 32/36 DGEV is the most popular around here. Could use the 38/38 (I think) but that may be a bit much for the 1600; donno. Beautifull car too! Me like!
  20. Hummm looks like we have a problem, desertsubaru.
  21. Welcome to Subaru land! Perf mods? Put a Weber on! Makes a big differance in power. Other mods are exhaust and different cam. Dat's all I can think of for the EA71.
