Just got my LSD rear diff from the sucker king (john) and I need some info on how to do the conversion. I did a search on lsd conversion and just got people that have done it. Has anybody done a writeup on this conversion? They say it's a just a bolt up with a little grinding. Where do I need to grind? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Awesome! How come the 4x4s I see are so stuck that a full size is needed to yank him out? Saw a chevy that was sitting on both bumpers. The axels didn't have much weight on em at all. He was quite stuck. Or, it's me who's stuck in the sand and has to get pulled out by an F350 who's spining all fours and I'm going noware? That time, I wasn't even sittin on the frame, I just couldn't get the tires moving; no lowend torque and VERY soft sand.

'94 Loyale Speedo error & a tad jumpy
subynut replied to BobMadison2004's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Tranny fluid in the speedo? Caused by a blown seal at the speedo cable and tranny connection. -
Backfired really badly then died

She runs just under the 45 mark at 3k rpms when up to temp and just above the 0 line when idling. hummm.....back a few years ago, when I was young and stpid, I lost the oil pump and ran without oil pressure for about 5 miles. Wonder if that did it in? Stange thing is the ditsy gear looks fine. No worn spots or anything. Boy, what a bummer. And I just put some aluminum wheels on too. -

ok. Can I do that without taking the engine out? Also, could those metal shavings have gotten into he rest of the engine? -

worse than that. The gear on the camshaft that drives the ditsy is worn. Ditsy is fine; no play at all. The mech advance seems a little loose, but it feels ok. However, when I pulled the ditsy out, I found metal shavings on the ditsy shaft and there is a small pile on the bottom of the cam case. The gear on the camshaft is shot. Badly worn down. That cam side has always made a funny noise ever since I've had the car; about five years. Guess that's Y, eh? So, if that's so, I guess the best thing is to pull the engine out and completely tear it apart and clean the the metal shavings out, yes? Last oil change showed no metal shavings (about two months ago). -
and won't restart. Was heading home when it died, thankfully right next to a circle k. Tried to resart, but it keeps backfiring. Poped the t-belt covers off and the cams are still in sync with the crank. However, the ditsy is off by a clyinder! At TDC of the compression stroke of cyl 1, the dtsy is pointing at cyl 3! What gives? Also, tach was jumpy and my low rpm torque was not there about a day before this mess happend. I am going to replace the ditsy and see if that fixes it, since everything seems to be pointing in that direction.

Me picked up some new rims for me Suby 2 days ago. Finally got a chance to put them on. Check it out:http://usmb.net/gallery/Subynut/CAM_0218 Put me back $100 for 5. 5th one is a little different, but it gives me a spare rim that fits both the front and the back. My previous spare rim was from a EA81 and it didn't fit the front.:-\ And guess what tires usually went flat?

A hello thread - Hi everyone! - EDIT: added pic

Welcome to the board! And that's one REALLY nice ride too! -
Tallest tire on our 13" rims is 185/80/13. Dat's what I'm running.

Does abouts 50 mph in a 1/4 mile count?
-
That's not fair! When my Suby brakes, it takes out a t-belt 60 miles from home!

Could B 2 things: 1: When was the fuel filter replaced? 2: The carby may be in need of a rebuild. Mine did that too; after the third one I said to myself "Enough of this nonsense!" and upgraded to the Weber and havn't seen it since.

bump, yes?

OOOOOOHHHHHH!!! So THAT'S what those relays do! COOL! Thanks for the enlightment!

I donno.....20s on a brat? They look funny on a avalanche. Stick with 16 or 17s. just my 2 cents.

No ill effects, yet. Went out playin again yesterday and it doesn't splatter oil anywhere.

EA81 backfiring... why she do this???
subynut replied to subaru420's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yup, I vote for a leaky exhaust system too. Going to finish my exhaust today. Ya know what's fun: as I'm coming up on a pedestrian, I'll sit on the throttle where it doesn't make too much noise and when I'm right next to them, I jab the throttle and watch them jump 3 feet in the air! -
It's one of those "fancy" aftermarket cone types you find at Autozone or PepBoys. It was like, 5 or 7 bucks (I think) Thought it would go with the carb filter rather nicely. Well, when it's clean, that is! Page one has a pic of it.

That's cute! I like it! Course, that brat in the background is awesome!

Would that fit on me EA82? Maybe with a few adjustments?
