Our Brat got the "peoples choice" award at the Back to the 80's car show Saturday.

I actually have a third eye assembly but when I found out I would have to cut up my grill I decided not to.

Thanks, I'll consider getting access to that center fastener from the inside.

I've taken out the two screws but the vent seems to be still held in place by something in the center. I'd prefer not to have to take off the panel behind it inside since the 30 + year old plastic is brittle. Pressing on the vent there seems to be something solid in the center unlike the rest which deforms easily. If there is a press in fastener there I'm going to try prying it out with a thin screwdriver.

I'm not on FB, can you post a link here?

That's an old picture, but the cold weather will be coming soon to Minnesota. That's why I wanted to fix the "air vent grill" before I put the Brat away for the winter. I only see two screws though, are the other two inside?

There are two screws on the black plastic "grille" behind the door glass. Even with those two screws out there is something still holding it in place. Do I need to remove the interior panel to get at it?

What year is it? How many miles (KM)?

Just over 100K miles and soon the snow and salt will be gone here in Minnesota and I'll be taking it out again.

Put it on BAT (Bring A Trailer). They have sold a lot of interesting old cars.

What's the Subaru OEM part number for the clutch cable on a 1985 Brat?

Or should I say smash-up.

Got a set of OEM glamour rings for my '85 Brat but I've noticed how they really tear into the Jackman wheels. My Jackmans never had them so they are nice and smooth. Any way to protect the wheels or is there a better after market type that grips the rim edge?

On a Brat the ride height is adjustable front and rear. In the front, the lower spring perch has adjusters. In the rear, there is a 19mm bolt on the center of the torsion bar to raise and lower the rear end.

I got a good passenger seat for my '85 Brat GL (thanks Dan Hardy). I plan on putting it in place of my worn out drivers seat. I see how the seats are attached to the adjuster rails and that should be easy. My question is can I take the seat back tilting mechanism off of the drivers seat and put it on the replacement passenger seat? Right now the back seat adjuster is on the right side of the seat going in and I'd prefer it to be on the left side when it is installed.

How tough is it to convert an EA-81 with a carb to propane? What problems would you expect? Any kits available? What advantages are there?

Thanks much, can the Muir book still be bought?
