  1. Recently while driving my '85 Brat GL I got a warning light pop on stating that a brake light was out. I never knew that this Brat even had such a warning light. Anyhow, I established that the passenger side brake light was out, took off the tail light assembly to find three bulb sockets backsides. Knowing it was the middle one I tried to get it to come free from the housing. No luck. I didn't want to break anything. I don't see a way to separate the lens from the housing to get access to the bulb from the front.  Any advise?

  2. It's been a hot summer in Minnesota, routinely in the 90's with high humidity. I find myself driving our '85 Brat more because the AC is better than that in my Lexus. I recognize that the cabin is much smaller and therefore easier to cool but the Brat has over 100K on it and never has had the AC worked on. I'm thinking it might be because the refrigerant is the older R -14.  Of course performance is way down with the AC on, I can tell when the compressor cycles on/off.
