  1. Besides parking my Brat for the winter here in Minnesota, I don't even drive it in the rain.
  2. Should zinc be added to the oil of EA-81 engines?
  3. Car is still in storage and out of reach. I'm working on getting the wiring and dash switch.
  4. Was the third eye even offered on the second gen GL Brat?
  5. My daughter who gave it to me for Christmas said that the owner who sold it to her told her that it was from an 1982 Brat GL which would mean quad headlights.
  6. I got a third eye for Christmas. Can I put it on my '85 Brat GL without cutting up the current grill? The car is offsite for winter storage (this is Minnesota) so I can't mock it up. Also where does the switch go on the dash? I didn't get a switch or wiring to the 5 pin connector on the third eye unit. Is a wiring diagram available? Thanks in advance.
  7. Transmission from a '79 Brat for sale in my area. Would it fit in my '85 Brat? Both are 4 speeds.
  8. Mine's an '85 and they are welded. I believe some '86 were sold with jump seats but they were left over 85's.

  10. 1985 Brat GL in Minnesota, sadly I can't use it during the winter.
  11. I want to get the drivers seat recovered over the winter and plan on switching it out for the passengers seat while that's being done. I measured the seat rails and they appear to be the same so I could just unbolt both of them. Any chance the seats just slide out from the rails like in an air cooled VW? It would be easier that way.
  12. Thanks Subaru fans, our BRAT runs fine now but looking ahead to when my daughter gets it I'd like to be prepared.
  13. If any of those need replacement are they available? Can a 49 state part be interchanged?
  14. My '85 BRAT was sold new in California. Is it the same as those sold new elsewhere? I recall that many cars in the 80's had California versions and 49 state versions to meet California's stricter emission standards. Stuff like different carburetors and such. Did Subaru do such a thing?
