  1. From what I gather no one has, or wants to spend, that money. We'd all just prefer to complain about the problems with Subie suspension. I'm happy with my setup, normal 2" body lift, longer rear shocks. But I would like some longer front struts so I don't have to run front sturt lift blocks. But the problem I have here is there isn't any local offroad spot that my Subie can't go..
  2. Man those RAM/SUB4 EA81 heads are to die for....
  3. But cheaper then new wheels I would assume?
  4. I know that. I was just wondering if a R180 was the same. The way I heard it on the Datsun sites is the R in R160 ment it was made by fuji. But you say otherwise?
  5. A 40mm+ adjustable spanner with at least a 300mm handle.. Can tighten axle nuts, turn the crank over, it can do just about anything... Did anyone say hammer? That has got to be the most important tool.
  6. I've never used seafoam.. But I can tell ya I doubt it's "just" kero. It probably smells a lot like kero, but what doesn't. And because the product isn't eatable, they don't have to tell you wants in it. Secrets everywhere.
  7. Are these front diffs from the R series? You know, the rears are R160's Nissan's mostly have R180's, and so on. I've heard the front diff isn't a R160, but is it still an R??? And if so, an Rwhat? I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for your future posts WJM. Sounds fun so far.
  8. I like watching mythbusters, but I haven't seen this episode of it (Australia is delayed in everything.) My question is, what car's did they try this on? New EFI, old EFI, newish carbed, old carbed? In a EFI system it may not help the mpg, as the ECU changes all sorts of things when the A/F ratio in the exhaust changes. I haven't heard of using kero, but it does have a longer burn, which at low RPM might be advantages. But I'm just taking wild guesses.
  9. I was told by a mate that the video was boring.. haha. I think it didn't have enough crazy stuff like burnouts and jumps for him (his the guy in white wagon in the other video that got air, just.) It probably needs some music too. Maybe next time I'll get out of the car more and video the conventional way as well. Just gotta go offroading again eh? Pitty it's summer here again, and it was the driest winter on record here so I have doubts about any good mud around for at least 6months... I took the Brumby with the road wheels on down to the Murray mouth and done some awesome drifting around the river side on the flat sand. Although I needed to get pushed out of some soft stuff trying to get back to the road. It's weird because my brothers 83 wagon with 185/75R14's that are bald had no problems down there, but my almost new 215/60R15's just sunk. My kumho's are the best tyre on a subaru I've seen so far in any condition, they made the sand look like a hard dirt road. But these roadie wheels sucked. How weird. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=k&om=1&ll=-35.555482,138.878517&spn=0.08533,0.188484 I've got a video from my bro's phone of the drifting but it's very small and blury. So you can't see it well, only looks good to me because I took one of the video's and it just reminds me of what it looked like. I should really keep my DV cam in the car at all times. Could a ramble on anymore?
  10. Radiator pipes wouldn't line up would they? Heater pipes may need work? I'm not really helping here am I
  11. Are you going to be using a T-case? (I don't think that makes any difference to the question though)
  12. They are rare in Australia too. I've only talked to 3 people on AUSubaru that have the engine. Plenty seem to have the manifolds. It's sad, many might have gone to the crusher with only the manifolds removed Keep the engine, do it up, and it will rock. Mine is having trouble getting over 6.5K rpm at the moment, and needs a full rebuild. But it still woops an EA82 with a weber by far!
  13. Is that a bit of an exhaust leak I here in the video? Sometimes they rob you of a lot o'power. I like the camo, looks cool. Whats the gearing like with those 29.5"s? I don't think I could put up with anymore then 27" onroad, but I haven't used any bigger so maybe..
  14. Quick search turned up this, which I remember posting too. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=63065&highlight=rwd+conversion Pretty much everything was covered I think. Anyway, Welcome to the forum.
  15. Those exhaust ports look just like my dual carb EA81's. You have a wicked motor there mate. Fix that stupid small exhaust. Put a single big weber or the dual carbs on it. And She'll fly. That said, I am putting a EJ22 in my car. But I won't be selling my EA81dc, thats for a later project.
  16. Thanks, I'll have to go lable that blue black wire. I've got all the plugs I don't need off (I hope I didn't take any I do need, only time will tell.) and I've found where I need to put Earth, IGN power, and Constant power on. Now I need to go get some alloy to make an adaptor plate. Then it's getting to work on the car.. It's all coming along nicely so far. Cheers for all the help. You guys are just to friendly and helpful. Makes the rest of the internet look crap.
  17. Alrighty, thanks alot numbchux. I found three wires that go from the ECU to that other picture of the harness I showed you. One is green/black which is the speed sensor wire, goes from ECU to instrument cluster and then doubles up and heads to the box under the passenger seat (ABS, Cruise Control, ???) Does the ECU need this speed sensor wire? And if it does, where would I wire it into my instrument cluster? Next is a Blue/black wire going from ECU to instrument cluster, couldn't find a reference to it in the ECU pinouts you uploaded. And the other is a red/yellow which follows the blue black one and also has no reference. So I hope they don't do anything. I'm almost there with cutting the loom down. I just hope it works afterwards. There is only 5 or so wires I am concerned about now.
  18. Fiat's use 4x98, same as Alfa's.. And won't fit 4x100. Pretty much every old and new small jap car with 4 studs uses 4x100. Very popular size. But don't just go on that, try and measure it.
  19. WJM is working on this kinda thing I am pretty sure. Has been for ages now I think. Check my post in this thread. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57427&highlight=ausubaru+EA82t Read this thread here. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=58901&page=3&highlight=ausubaru+EA82t And do a search for all the other threads I didn't link to.
  20. I'm with you RTR.. Have fun with it. It's only a EA82. If it were a EA81 I'd beat you up! ahah. As you may be able to tell, I don't like the EA82's much.
