  1. Posting to it only keeps it near the top. :-p Stop posting and it will go away. Edit: One other thing.. I think people who would trust something like that on ebay deserve to be ripped off. Grow a brain? If you have a issue with high postage, don't buy it. Sorry, getting into the ebay rubbish now.
  2. Take a friend and place him on the road with a two way to keep an eye out for cops. Easy.
  3. I think the major leason here to learn is everyone has opinions. Some are right, some are wrong. Like everything on the internet you should read it all with a pinch of salt. After you have read enough to convince you that it is true, then believe it. Even books get it wrong. Just because it's been writtin and published by a company doesn't mean it is right. It does take a fair bit of knowledge and experience to get the search fuction to work for you. First thing you have to do is find the right question to ask. The way I use the internet, books, media (newspapers, tv, etc) is find as much as possible, then find the stuff that has been said the most amount of times, then follow that (but not believing it to be true, so I do everything with caution.) If you have a problem with one persons ideas, ingnore them. If you insult them, they aren't going to back down. Their human, take no $h*^ from no one. DISCLAIMER: This is what I believe, not what is right or true. If you don't agree, keep it to your self, as I need LOTS of proof to believe otherwise. So don't waist yours, my, everyones time *please!*
  4. http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k215/mattpappas/P1010021.jpg Not bad for an 82! lol, nah.. looks good http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k215/mattpappas/Subaru012.jpg Whats it gonna turn into?
  5. Just don't idle with the tailgate down for too long. Could damage the paint.
  6. like this? Very commen here in Australia. They don't cost too much to get custom made either My dash looks shocking under that mate. Personally, I don't care. Hmm, I need to update that picture... Got some more goodies in there now. Edit: heres a couple more file:///D:/My%20Documents/My%20Site/frog%20pond%20subaru/images/subaru_glovebox_radio_amp5.jpg file:///D:/My%20Documents/My%20Site/frog%20pond%20subaru/images/center_console_finshed_product1_subaru_brumby.jpg Putting in a digital ammeter next, under the choke control.
  7. My bro hit a roo in his ford once (no, not a subaru, a kangaroo.) it damaged the spot light wiring and coursed the fuse the blow as soon as the lights went on. So yeah, check wiring, then fuses. But I think you already knew what to do, so thats why my first comment was like it was..
  8. Unsure about EA71's and fitting EJ's but I know you won't fit a DOHC EJ in there. I'd say the EA82t might fit. Why is this in the offroad section?
  9. I've seen sender units mounted horizontally in the oil pump (goes into the end on the left of that pic, next to where the pump bolts on.) Would that be protected enough? That setup you have there looks to do the trick though. Well done.
  10. Looks pretty rusty about the fenders and left door. Poor little roo.
  11. I had a bolt shear off and lost a lift block on the trails too. It was one of the torsion bar ones. Didn't to any damage, until I tried to fix it. Count your self lucky it came loose and didn't just shear off. Impossible to get out a 12mm stuck thread Finally I had to cut a hole in the body just about the nut and drill out the captive nut and use a normal one. Now I am worried about taking out any other bolt as I don't want them to shear.
  12. It's easy, if you understand the basics about engines. What kind of work have to done on a Subaru (or any car for that matter) ? Heres whats normally required Take the air box off. Un-bolt the manifold (get new gaskets for that) just un-bolt it, don't pull it away. Un-bolt the alternator, and AC. take the rocker covers off. Remove the T-belt covers and t belts. Remove the cam towers, un-bolt the heads, take them off. clean it all up and put it all back together. I might of missed a few things, but thatskinda a indication of what needs to be done. There might be something in there http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=44 Look at this too http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62674&highlight=head+gasket
  13. hmmm. Next stop at the wreckers and I'll be looking at a few Nissans I think! I plan on having about 90amps of accessories (lights, inverter, audio) in my Brat so I want something to back it all up with. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Yeah, I have to admit my driveshafts aren't rusty, and they come out easy. So its not a problem. I had a stuburn one on a wreck, 3 mins of bashing it to hell and it came out.. Bit of a grind one the angle grinder and it works great...
  15. You really just have to look for the "LSD" writin on the case..
  16. Haha.. I have some other footage that I'm going to put with this one (going the right way) to make another 1 to 2 min video... I'll prolly get around to that next weekend. I thought you'd all like it.
  17. I was showing a mate how to do some video editing stuff and while doing that had an idea.. So here it is, lol Downloadable version: http://webmaster.beverleypaine.com/downloads.html <top video on that page> Googleized version: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=669953946676323254 It's only 1.7mb!
  18. That would do the trick... What kinda diff mods does it have (or did it have) ?
  19. I just had a thought, what about an Auto with a t-case!?! I don't like autos, and I refuse to own or drive one, but I still am ok with saying they may be better in this situation..
  20. That's why I use protective glasses (same as ones you use while angle grinding) when working under my car
  21. ... I reckon you'd break something with you had two welded diffs.. Because nothing would give. All wheels must turn together.. Oh, another thing. I can imagine if you welded both diffs you wouldn't have the power (or maybe even the clutch) to get your self out of that hole. So, performance clutch plus EJ22 might be needed.
  22. Tape measure + brat tray = right measurement?
  23. You'd have to do something like this http://www.risingsuncarservice.com.au/ Subies just don't have chassis, which means they need the body (inc roof) to hold straight(ish)
