  1. I need to pull the diff apart and be able to install a new center into it. (I.E. Diff locker)
  2. Sounds awesome.. I think I need a turbo... the EJ22 just doesn't cut it with rallycross.. tee hehe
  3. Just cos I'm persistant.... What does people think about a 1/4" drive for undoing these E10 bolts on the stub shafts? And any other ideas for getting the cups off without heat that will damage the seals?
  4. Oh... I don't need new tyres now.. I still have pretty good 215/60R15 directional street tyres and Kumho M/T's on my steel rims.. I still can't make up my mind what I'll do when the Kumho's run out... Which looks like it wil take a bit longer then I expected as I have no money for petrol..
  5. Isn't it just so mcuh fun rolling your car... Or in my case, my brothers car...
  6. Well I gotta pull the cluster out again sometime as it keeps squeeking.. So I'll have a look. What am I looking for on the back of the speedo? If I dont have it in the speedo and I were to use a crank shaft sensor plus a magnet on the driveshaft DOJ, do you think that would work?
  7. not as far as I know.. It came out of an 83 Coupe. And we never got EFI EA81's here in Australia to my knowledge. So I don't think they would of put a speed sensor in.
  8. OMG... I am now getting random idle anywhere from 450rpm (almost stalls) to 2000RPM.. Really not fun as I like to engine brake a lot. Oh, and no IAC code now either (that hasn't come back after I replaced the whole solenoid valve thingy.) Only code is 33. So, I know this was asked somewhere else about the EA82 VSS but.. How many ticks a mile or kilometer does the sensor put out? And do you think I can just stick an aftermarket sensor on my driveshaft or propshaft and wire it into the ECU?
  9. So, what motor and boost device you got now? I need boost.. Well, I need to fix the rear floppy driveshafts and stub axles first. Then get the new hood on, then...... hmm.. Boost comes later Sounds like your having fun though!
  10. That helps the most.. Problem is I always make my car look good :-\
  11. ...? It says non-subaru twice... I think that means Subaru topics go else where.
  12. Notice something weird about where this thread is placed? "Alternative Vehicles (non soob) > Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion"
  13. With frameless doors and the ignition plug like it is on these old Subaru's I could steal one in under 5mins if I wanted.. It's pretty bad and that's why I suggest you get a switch to install somewhere in the ignition system to kill all the power (aka kill switch.) Just make sure it's hidden and not obviously on the ignition wire.
  14. If you only see one side it does kinda look like the panels have just been replaced. Well I got a new hood. Pretty straight. And it's white.. So, what about a white hood? No, looks kinda :-\ so it's time to get some paint.
  15. If your on loose stuff (snow, gravel, offroad trails, etc) it's fine, there is enough slip for it all..
  16. I've looked at the snap-on austrailan site and they only have the E10 in 1/4" drive.. Is that going to be strong enough? I rounded one of them off using a 8mm deep socket and an air rattle gun. Took quite some time before it rounded off and it was still tight.. Kinda thinking a 1/4" will just twist off with the pressure I need..Just found a universal joint 3/8" E10 socket... gonna have to measure and see if that will fit.
  17. Have you got all identical tires? If even one of your rear tires is too big or too small it will cause what you are describing.
  18. Well in the 60's I think they used a EA63, in 70's they had EA71, then there was the 80's with the EA81. Then they modded the EA81 to fit over head cams and called it the EA82.. Kind of a pattern there... But I have no idea really. What ius interesting is on the heads of both the EA81 and EA82 they just have "E81" or "E82" without the A.. :-\

    snorkel

Bigger the better yes.. But this one my mate has didn't make any negative difference to performance and it is only 2" fence post with plain angle cuts and welds not smooth bends.
  20. So weird. On both Top Gear (british) and yous guys (mostly american) you all talk about toque steer the same. Yet one of our best racing commentators here in Australia and a couple of other austrailians I have talked to know it how I do.. Plus when your talking about FWD Alfa's they all seem to know it how I do. Oh and when my brother had the Telstar Turbo and was on MX6.com they all talked about it how I know it.. Isn't it weird how different "cultures" know things in different ways then others? Oh well, back to looking for a range rover..
  21. I definition of torque steer is when your heading into a corner and your under steering, then you put your foot down and it pulls in tight and sometimes over steers. I.E. Torque induced steer. Thats what I call torque steer... Or is that something else? Maybe this is why I can never understand how engine mounts can make bad torque steer.. :-\

    snorkel

He says it runs pretty bad because of the cool air the jetting is wrong.. But I'm thinking maybe it's just hes using some weber off a 4L engine with what ever small jets he could find.. I can't really say anything though as I haven't driven many EA82's and this is the only one with a weber (I think it's a 34/34. Hes got a better one to go on, a 32/36.) Hes also gone and siliconed EVERYthing under the hood.. He took a plug lead off the other week and after a deep water splash it was running of 3. So I think his silicone works, it's just not service friendly. I used to think snorkels were not needed for the amount of money/work you put into them.. Then I came across a water hole that I didn't want to do because it was as deep as my air intake.. He probably would of went thorough no troubles.. So maybe it's time for a snorkel.
