  1. Just a guess but maybe you have lost down travle because your DOJ's are over extending? try using EA82 shafts?
  2. I think i've made up my mind... keep it how it is.. only with a new hood
  3. Got a welder? Find some 15" (any vehicle rims.) Cut the inner out of the 15" rims. Grab your 13" rims, place inside the 15" and weld... ? Yes, it does sound crazy, but I have seen similar done before with no problems.
  4. I'd go the one on the right (rally style) and find some hard compound rally tires to suite... You've got FT4WD right?
  5. Yeah, I want a set of 27x9.5R15 swampers for those wheels.. But I don't think I want that hardcore of a tread for this car.. I'm building a buggy which I will tow to 4x4 spots with the Brumby so I'm thinking some A/T's would be nice.. Just can't find 235/70R15's or anything under 28.8" for a 15" wheel I'm starting to think just silver and red. I did want to do something new, but it looks good how it is right now. So, hmm..
  6. I do liek the following the contours idea.. But I'm starting to just like the silver rims and plain red.. I think my mind changes to often for me to do anytihng but plain.
  7. Ok, now that my hood has a huge bog crack, faded paint, and a huge burnt patch on it.. I think it's time it gets a paint. Well, in this case I'm going to get another one and paint that. I know a panel beater/painter and she's willing to help after a heap of work I done on her car trailer. So it is going to end up a professional looking job. Just want to know what you think about the color. Back to red, or go to black? I also need to paint to roof, but theres no way that is going to be black, way to hot in Australia for that. So I'm thinking it will be red again. Oh, and I've photochopped the wheels black while I'm there because thats how I want to paint them when I figure out how to remove the original paint and clear coat. Not so sure on the wheels after all.. Argh... Can't make up my mind... But I'm thinking I don't like the black hood.
  8. Yeah, well my parents house (which is where I live) is completely solar and wind.. Actually, I tell a lie, last year we bought a battery charger to run off my brothers 13hp gen set.. But we are close to only renewable energy. Apart from our cars... Oh, btw, it's 240vac here in australia, but it doesn't make much difference. The amp ratings are still all the same. This setup seems to work good, just need some bigger fuses (25A and 35A.) Not perfect, but it works. And I shouldn't have a fire again (hopefully.) I'm really only fussed on the whole fire thing when it happens while the engine is stopped and your inside having a coffee or something... If it lights on fire while I'm in the car then thats ok.. Oh, and also, to explain what you see in that photo... Off of the positive side of the battery is the starter cable now rapped in heater hose. A cable also runs to my new shunt (which is a device that an ammeter uses to read the current draw and feed of a electrical system.) The shunt is in a piece of radiator huse and then clamped to the car with some holy sheet steel. Yes, jesus made this him self. (sorry for that bad joke.) This then runs to a 6 spade fuse box. This is the bad part, I've parrelled the fuses so I can get 50amps on the headlight circuit and 70amps for the charge and ignition circuit. The problem here is if one fuse dies from either a bad connection on the other or whatever, so will the other right away. The negative has a huge wire running to the chassis and another to the engine for the starter..
  9. well shes back up and running.. need some more fuses but she'll live for now. I'm just using standard spade fuses, I figure it will do and it was the cheapest option really..
  10. I've bought a lot of archery gear from the US before. One compound box came in a 100cm by 30cm by 5cm 5kg box and it only cost $48. So I guess you should be able to get similar price. That's 10 to 14 day air mail. You can ship a whole tyre for $90.. Yes, I've been looking at super swampers....
  11. You'll find what you're looking for here http://offroadingsubarus.com/kumho_tires.html And here http://offroadingsubarus.com/fenders.html They are Kumho 27x8.5 M/T's on nissan 6stud rims. It's a 2" body lift and suspension isn't cranked as high as it can go because I was eating through axles. I cut the rear of the front fenders, but I have also done a suspension mod http://offroadingsubarus.com/control_arm_mod.html (I have fixed it, just need to write it up again) that moved the wheels further forward. I then had to cut the front of the front fenders but I no longer need the rear cut (but thats how they are and they are staying that way..) I'm looking at getting 27x9.5 Super swampers, or maybe even fitting some 29x11.5's? hehehe..
  12. I think Fatz is using this kit http://crossbredperformance.com/ Worth something like $1200AUD.. XT6 stuff still seems cheaper even once imported. Although a little hard to come by I think..
  13. This reminds me of the good old days (when I thought it would work great after it started.) Still having flippen idle hell with mine.. Well at the moment it burnt it's battery and some wires so I guess I''m having no trouble iwth the idle as it wont start without a battery.. Anyhowd, I wish you better luck then I! Have fun.
  14. Still thinking weather to go A/T's on the Brumby or M/T's and steer tyres. I really like the handling I get with the street tyres, but it takes about 40mins to swap them over. And M/T's plus street tyres cost lots Still, I've always wanted 27x9.5 tyres for the little brumby..
  15. You going to put the front end back on it? Or build some protection for those wheels and suspension? Go have some fun and kick rump roast
  16. That would be awesome if you could find out for me... I don't have a good overseas phone rate as I don't use the phone much.. $386US for 4!!?!?!??! and they do a $50 rebate???!?!?!! Man, even with the exchange rate you could charge $200US postage and that's still a great price!.
  17. Yes, see that's why I want personal experienced people to say how long there set lasted (or is going to last looking at wear already.) Does that site ship to Australia? Because it's hard to find them here, for a decent price that is.
  18. REally I just want to know how many road KM/miles I would get out of a set in either 2WD or AWD.
  19. Now the fun begins for my brothers 4Runner... http://offroadingsubarus.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=90 Lockers.. Not one, two... Mmmmm
