Hi ALL! Well my brother just replaced his older OB, it started to make noice in the Auto tranny. Traded it for a new 2010 OB, auto. I took a ride with him, I didn't drive it. It's really nice..has that CVT tranny. BUT what's with NO TEMP gauge? They have that stupid Vacuum gauge that tells you if your "foots" in it! AND....is that an Electric Parking Brake? They don't even call it an an Emergency Brake anymore! SubeeTed

Hi ALL! Thanks so far on the tips! I found this kit on Ebay (click below). Is this stuff ANY good? I'm terrified of doing this with using less than par parts. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97-2-5-Subaru-Legacy-DOHC-Timing-Belt-Water-Pump-Kit_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZalgoQ3dLVIQ26ituQ3dUCIQ26otnQ3d3Q26psQ3d6QQ_trksidZp3286Q2em7QQcategoryZ33625QQihZ023QQitemZ360186305224

Hi all! It's time to do my timing belt on my '97 GT, with it's 2.5 DOHC. It was done when the lower end was replaced at 83K miles, now I have 183 K miles. Does Subee sell a kit for this? Of course I'll only use Subee OEM parts as I have heard many times here! What EXACTLY will I need? Once I get it open with my buddy mechanic, I want to have it all? Which is the best place for parts ? First Subee or is there somewhere else? Many thanks, SubeeTed

Hi ALL! I neeed to replace my PAss Front Strut. I decided to go to a salvage yard, to get whole assembly, running low on funds. I have a '97 GT Wgn. I wanted to make sure that I got the right one. I know that OBW's and SUS's have different assemblies. I started looking into online auto store catalogues. I noticed there is a different part number for a strut that doesn't have ABS, and one that does? The ABS one cost about $10.00 more, what's the diference? Anyone know? Is it just a bracket to hold the ABS wiring? Many thanks, SubeeTed!

Hi ALL! CEL is OFF now! My buddy has NEW sticker! What it finally was, is to REPLACE the almost 2 year old CAts (from Subaru) that he put in BEFORE the Head Gaskets blew! His mechanic talked to his Subee connections about the on going CEL and code. It seems that when the HG blew, it contaminated those CATS, and throwing the P0420 code. And of course SUBEE wouldn't honor the warranty because of the SUBEE HG blow up! THX ALL! SubeeTed

Hi all! A buddy of mine has an 2002 OBW, auto, 2002 K miles on it. The dreaded P0420 code has appeared. It appeared about TWO years ago! Somehow he got it to pass inspection a year ago. He has replaced the front CAT, it seems to work fine, operating at correct temp. This is a few weeks ago. Code reappeared 30 miles fown the road after that. Then I suggest to replace the front 02 sensor , from the suggestion I got here. I also had this code, did the 02, it went away for me, got inspection! BUT this isn't working for him! He also has replaced the wires! And a few months back has done the Head Gaskets. The car runs fine! ANY suggestions????? THX, SubeeTed

Hi all! I have a '97 Legacy GT Wgn, it has those big 16 " tires. I have a set of Goodyear Assurance Triple treads. I have a simple...almost stupid question about traction on Snowy Days. This car has NO problems getting to go...the only problem is....ah....stopping! I still have somewhat of a lead foot in the winter also! I'm running 37 PSI up front, and 35 PSI in the rear, basically 5 PSI OVER the door sticker. I did this to improve my gas milage. Now it's winter...should I leave it the way it is? OR bring it back to 32/30. With the thinking that the less PSI makes a larger "Foot Print" and helps slow one down, or does it only hurt, because that big wide tire does even more hard hydoplaning (snow) ? Thanks, SubeeTed

OK.....so what I did! Get a CLEAN Campbells Chicken Soup can! Put 6 0z's of Sea Foam in it! Put on the ground....get a Virgin (this IS a must ) Indian Dream Keeper above your head! Dance the Indian Dance....BUT Backwords! And don't forget to pitch a Penny into the nearest Fountain before you do ANY of this! But if this fails just follow the good instruction below! http://volvospeed.com/Repair/seafoam.html

Hi ALL! I have a '97 GT WGN, 2.5 DOHC, 176 K miles on it. Last night on my way home from my "Back-Guy", my CEL needed to go off! This worked out fine! On my back home I have to drive by my buddies garage! We ran the SnapOn CEL Code thing...it said Front Cat Peformance lacking...or whatever! The car Starts, Runs Fine! I cleared code, drove 10 miles home...no problems. I see here that that front cat usually isn't the problem, says the Nipper! It's usually the Up Steam 02 sensor. Mines still original, the rear has been replaced. Since my car is running fine...I thought I'de do the old Sea Foam treatment. Do the old run it through the engine. I have NEVER done this myself....just EXACTLY how do you do this?? Oh ya, my gas milage is about the same, it has gone down about 2 mpg's, its winter, its what I usually get with Higher Idling, running heater fan etc. Many thanks,SubeeTed

Hi ALL! My '97 Legacy GT Wagon has a set of GoodYear TripleTreads with only 28 K miles on them. I bought them 2 1/2 years ago. I have done the rotation thing. When I did it last time (that's BAlance and rotate) I moved the rear tires up front, I got a vibration through the steering wheel, felt much like out of balance feel. You could feel on the tires up front, slight bit of cupping! We moved the tires back around, most vibration is gone, you can sort of feel it coming from the rear. I don't think I rear need rear shocks...I did the jump on the rear bumper thing, it didn't bounce around like a basketball! Anyone else have this problem in a Wagon? Could it be caused by alaignment? Mine seems to be fine! What to do? Many thanks, SubeeTed

Hi all! I'm finding conflicting miles for the interval. I'm hearing 60K miles because I have an '97 2.5 DOHC, and the '98, '99's are 105K. What gives? My 2.5 was rebuilt in 09/02, with 85K miles on it. It has timing belt part # 13028aa072. Is THIS the 105K belt? The guy I bought it from had the block crack. So it has the newer HG's also. Thanks, Subeeted

HI ALL! Well my Low Beam on my Sylvania XtraVision died! So, I don't want a ticket, put my old dull, but working bulb in! I can't find any of these bulbs in 9003's in my town! I got them at Walmart, which IS a 50 mile round trip, I just don't want to do it for the stupid bulb! SO... I was snooping around @ Ebay, came across these CHEAP bulbs! So...anyone have any real experience with these Korean bulbs???? Are they just CRAP!??? Many thanks, SubeeTed!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/5800K-XD5-H4-9003-Xenon-Krypton-Quartz-Bulb-55W-60W_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33710QQihZ005QQitemZ150224363554QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Hi ALL! I have a '97 GT Legacy Wgn. My Low Beam on my drivers side sort of doesn't want to work...sort of! Both Highs work! I noticed my Low Beam not working the other day....I just replaced both Bulbs about 2 years ago with those Sylvania's. Anyhow....it snowed hear in MAss a few days ago...I had to brush off my car, it was idleing, I always run my headlights, so they were on. The Low Beam was out, so I TAPPED it with my Snow Brush...it came right on!! I just tapped it, right on the plastic lens. So, this is what I do when I start my car in the Am, give it a little tap! So...what gives? I thought maybe some Ice maybe had formed in the connection, it's been cold. But yesterday it was in the 30's warmed up, same problem! ANY ideas???? Many thanks, SubeeTed
