Hi ALL! Well about a month ago I hit a Pothole here in MAss. It destroyed my Alloy Rim and one of the Hakka 1's that I had on my 1997 Legacy GT Wgn. Well they don't make Hakka 1's anymore, it wouldn't matter because I'de have to do 4! So...I got a used rim. I was just going to put my "Summer" tires on, figure out something later. Well that didn't work because I waited too long to get an all wheel alignment, the rear tires were getting into the cord, on the two most inner edges! So I was sort of stuck at my locale tire dealer. Well he's a Nokian dealer, not a GoodYear guy! HE sold me on those WR's, real 4 Season tire, great in snow! Don't need to put on Summer then Winter tires, save on that etc. And they give a 30 trial! Well I went for it, AND he was able to do a 4 wheel alignment then also! He also sold me on Nitrogen! I had 35 PSI in all 4 corners! Well I drove around for a day......I HATE THESE TIRES! They sucked all the fun of driving my GT! Maybe if I had OBW wagon I wouldn't notice! But the GT is set up for more spirited driving that I indulge in! So I waited about another week....really didn't want to make the call....felt kinda stupid! It's TOO much money to be this unhappy! What these tires do or don't, is that they don't track well, your always adjusting the wheel, they don't cut corners well either, alot of understeer. They don't brake well either! This is all in dry weather I'm talikng about, witch is most of the time when you have these on all year. The article in Canadian Driver desribes them well, http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/hl/nokian.htm So I went with the Goodyear Assurance TripleTred. This was my first choice but it would have been days to get them in 205/55/16. The first time I was there. So...I now have the TT's on....WHAT a differnece! Tracking is much better, it cuts turns well! I have been in snow once about 4", it was slick underneath, they didn't do as well as I expected. But I also have 35 PSI of Nitrogen! When it warms up around hre I'll adjust them down to 2 PSI above normal. I think that would be 32 in front, 30 in the rear, see what happens then! And they are rated for 80,000 miles instead of 50K for the WR's! They are a bit noisy, maybe that will go away with the Nitrogen PSI adjustment! SubeeTed

HI! I had a 4 wheel alignment done when I got these WR's. If you read the review from Canadian Driver. It describes these tires perfectly! They wander! In the dry, it's dry most of the time. http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/hl/nokian.htm Thanks for the heads up on the other forms. GT, Outback, I've bookmarked them! SubeeTed

Hi all! I had to get 4 new tires for my '97 GT Legacy. I hit a pothole, killed alloy rim, killed Hakka 1 that I had on it. I had to get a set of tires, tire guy's convinced me that these WR's are a good idea. A true 4 season tire. Won't have to get another set of summer tires. My summer tires that I had were in bad shape, an alignment problem, so I couldn't just put them on! Well I don't like them! They have a tendency to sort of wander. I really don't like the dry handling of these tires, it's dry most of the time. Below is a link to a review of these WR's, it descibes them well. So, what is there out there in a 205/55/16 that'll do the job? Anyone have a sey of Good Year Triple tracks? I've been to TireRacks site, they seem to have a good review. Any real world experiances out there? Many thanks, SubeeTed http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/hl/nokian.htm

After the valves were adjusted. And that code went away. (Basically I had 2 codes going on at one time, one over road the other) Soon the Cat code appeared. Previouse to this we replased all four plugs, during that we saw that the 4 plugs that the dealer installed at the 100K maintenance period, were NOT seated at all. I.E., the crush washers were not crushed. Because of the running the car the the miss seated plugs, they didn't burn the mixture all the way, the Cat did it's job and died finishing the combustion. Because that's what there supposed to do.

Hi! My .02. I had a misfire code for cylinder 2. I have a 2.5 Dohc, 1997 GT. I changed the plug wires, plugs, coil pack, ran Subee Cylider head cleaner through car! No dice! These are the things the dealer would do, For me it ended being one of my Valves was TOO TIGHT! This is an old occurans! Than after that was taken care of I got a code for my Cat. Before I bought the car, previuose owner had a 100K mile service done. They installed 4 NEW plugs! They FAILED too seat them properly! This killed my Cat. SubeeTed

Hi ALL!! Well I hit me a PotHole in MAss! I dented and destroyed my 16" stock GT Alloy. Hakkapeliitta 1 is destroyerd, broke bands. Now I know that they don't make these anymore! But even if they did, I couldn't by one and put it on my replacement rim I'm getting from the Salvage Yard? RIGHT!? Because I have ALL WHEEL DRIVE!!! So, the question IS! Why can I put on my spare, with no miles on it....and run that, WITHOUT destroting my ALL WHEEL DRIVE!!???? Thanks, SubeeTed

Hi ALL! Just recently I'm having a problem with my '97 GT Legacy Wgn drivers door! It seems shut! BUT, if a lean into it, that dash "door open" light thing comes on, and the dome light comes on! It really is easy to make this happen when the car is in a corner and leaning. I don't have to push it much! The door feels that it's shut! I've had 2 things happen to this door recently! I live in Mass. A few weeks ago that door was frozen, I had to push it open from the inside. Of course the other doors weren't frozen. The other thing is...my seatbelt doesn't retract as well as it used too! So a couple of times I've slammed the door on the belt that's hanging outside the door! You can see from the outside, that the door isn't 100% shut! It sticks out past the body about an 1/8 of an inch! Is this something a body shop ONLY can fix? HELP, SubeeTed

Hi ALL! I just got my 1997 GT Wgn back from my mechanic. He did the right side...iy didn't take care of the problem., next wek the left. From what I've been told these are a pain to diagnose, because you can't put the car on the lift and listen because there is know pressure being applied because of no load. Also, getting thse beraings out is a PAIN I here becuase of the way Subee does them. any ideas?? Thanks, SubeeTed

Hi ALL! A buddy of mine just installed one of those Tornado things in his 1998 2.5 RS. He just has had his first tank of gas with it and is getting 28 MPG )stop & Go, not bad!). BUT! He also installed a K&N filter at the same time.......AND he never kept track of his gas milage previouse to these improvements. So thier's no way of telling if there's an improvement. OR, what caused the improvement! You can get one of these on Ebay, for about half the cost of the rest of the world ($40.00). I'de be interested to see if other people have ACTUALLY installed and used one of these on there 2.5 DOHC. I have a 1997 GT Wgn with the 2.5 DOHC. I'm always looking for more MPG's ! If I got 1 more MPG, it would take 7 weeks for the Tornado to pay for itself. I already have a K&N filter! SubeeTed

Hi! I live 15 Mins from the NY border in MA. I had the same sort of "ready" issue over here in Ma inspection. I"m sorry that I really don't know how long it takes! I do sort of know that the Inspection Computer wants to see cycle time (turning on and of of your car) and miles on the computer. Basically it wants to see if you had just installed a part to get the CEL off, that it actually does the job! OBD II sucks!! Good Luck, SubeeTed

Hi ALL! My 97 GT Wagon has some spotted rust problems! They are in a few places! Some around the windshield, around the rear fenders, the other places are the drivers door and leading edge of the hood! I've gotten some bids on fixing...around $650.00. My question is this! IF I find a DOOR and A HOOD (IN PRISTINE CONDITION) at a salvage yard that are my color, White....am I better of replacing them...or have the body work done on what I have now??? Thanks, SubeeTed

Hi All! Well I was just about to replace my 9003 Headlight bulbs with some new Sylvania's! My drivers low beam had died...I decided to upgrade to those more internse one's,Extra Vision bulbs. I had a hard time pulling the connector off the drivers bulb.....I found out why!!! The top connector and some of the rubber around it were TOASTED! I assume that's the ground?! Anyhow... I cleaned it up a little with an emery board that I modified to fit in the connector, all these connectors don't look corroded at all! I also crimped the center connector so it would hold on better to the bulb. My QUESTION IS! Am I better off just seeing if this continues to work? I have my LOW beam now! I had thought of going to the junk yard and having them snip off this connector with about 6" of wires, then I'de slice them on! It doesn't seem a good idea to me considering the draw that the headlights have? I assume that the more, newer ones will have even more draw! Help! SubeeTed
