  1. Are you planning on bolting it down because that is the part I am worried about when it is time to install mine? Does the intercooler move around alot when driving aggressively?
  2. How did you mount the intercooler to the car?
  3. I just bought a set of Axxis Metal Masters for the front and haven't installed them yet. But anyways I just wanted to know where you found Metal Masters for the rear because I looked everywhere with no luck. Please post a link to an online shop that I can buy them from. I tried brakewarehouse.com and that is where I bought my front brakepads. Also, do they make Axxis Ultimates for our EA82 powered cars? Couldn't find any of those neither.
  4. I didn't notice much improvement over the old radiator, because I replaced a two row with another two row. It looks like OEM. It is constructed of brass and comes with a lifetime warrantee from manufacturer. It is direct fit and has the ATF hookups for Autos, but on I think the dealer installed A/C subarus the mechanical fan gets really close to the radiator which only makes it a pain to install or remove the radiator. I had to force the engine back a little bit to fit the fan on the water pump studs. Probably could be made easier by using bolts instead of studs on the water pump pulley.
  5. Here is a link to the 2 row that I bought, although I phone ordered mine. I think it is made by CSF. http://www.radiatorconnection.com/auto/HiPerformance/Subaru/sc1.htm
  6. I am part of Folgers group buy. Would it be possible for Techworks to ship mine strait to me as soon as the check clears instead of going through folgers. I need the pipes by the beginning of next week and I think this will minimize the delay. I think it would make shipping cheaper too. Also, would it be possible for TWE to send me a header from their second batch so that I won't have to deal with the power steering hose interference problem. If I have to reroute the power steering, I am going to be pissed!!!
  7. Has anybody gotten any word about the TWE pipes? I would like to know if they left TWE yet?
  8. shoot, I didn't know that. Well, my plan is to make it all look factory which means no intercooler, cone filter, etc. and then take it to somebody that doesn't no subarus to much and hope they pass it. This spider intake is made by subaru and it does come with the EGR and all emissions equipment and it was installed on a calif car, so I think it will pass. If I can't get it to pass, then I have no choice but to reinstall my old manifold. BTW I will also be converting my 2 cat exhaust to a 1 cat exhaust which is also illegal in calif (please don't tell ).
  9. okay, I've traced the pipe back and it definantly goes to the EGR Solenoid Valve. So any ideas?
  10. If I had to make a guess, I think it may connect to the intake manifold after the throttle body at this point shown in this pic. Can somebody verify please. Or maybe it connects to a check valve and then back to the air intake before the turbo?
  11. I need all the emissions stuff because live in CALIFORNIA. Thats why I so needed a spider with the EGR or else I couldn't do the spider manifold swap. The three metal pipes pointing 180 degrees from that one goes to the canister, but this one I believe does not. The canister only should require three of the metal tubes and a connection to the air intake before the turbo and after the MAF. I need somebody with a 87+ XT Factory Manual or somebody who has a spider turbo manifold to reply please. It is very important that all emissions stuff work perfecty or else I will fail smog.
  12. I have a spider XT intake manifold (turbo version) and I need to know what this metal emissions pipe connects to (circled in pic). I assume it connects to this long black vacuum hose, but then to what?
  13. okay I emailed clutchnet for prices and here is what they replied back with: I bought the 6 puck sprung (10700) for $165 and their pressure plate for another $200 (looks like they sold it to me for $25 less . It is still more than I wanted to pay, but I think I will be happy with my choice as soon as it gets all bolted up. I think this deal is still better value wise than clutchmasters $600 clutch kit.
  14. Do you know how much for the complete kit cause I need the pressure plate and throwout bearing too.
  15. ok, springs it is. Clutchnet hasn't responded to my email yet, so I guess I will just call them tomorrow. They only have three of there clutches available with springs for our cars. So I guess I will go with their 6 button clutch (10705) if I can afford it. If it costs too much then I think I will just go with a plain stock XT6 clutch, probably the one from clutchmasters because they seem to make good quailty clutches. I'll let you all know what I decide tomorrow and thanks for all the help once again.
  16. after looking at clutchnet here: http://www.clutchnet.com/make/subaru.html#XT6 now which one should I get? I see 8 choices for the XT6. I guess prices will determine which one I get. Solid Hub or Spring Hub? Does the FT4WD tranny have 7/8 (T#21) or 1 (T#24) spline? I will shoot them an email.
  17. ok, I just called Roger Warner from the Tech department at Centerforce and he said that they do not have clutches for the XT6 or the 4WD EA82(t) type cars. Their old subaru clutches are only for the EA81s and 2WD EA82s. I asked him if centerforce would be willing to add our 4WD cars to their catalog, and he said the only way they would consider making them for us is if there was a demand for it (from more than one person of course). He says he needs about one to two phone calls a week requesting it. Then he recommend www.clutchnet.com and ACT www.advancedclutch.com. I checked out ACT's website and it seems that they only have clutches for new generation subarus. So now I am looking at clutchnet.
  18. so...the centerforce clutch will not work with my FullTime 4WD tranny because the centerforce clutches only works with the 2WD? Damn! I guess I have to go with a stock XT6 clutch then. Which Brand do you guys like and trust?
  19. I can't find a centerforce clutch for the XT6. Will the EA series centerforce dualfriction clutch fit the XT6 flywheel? I think that maybe the same thing as asking if the EA series oem clutch will fit with the XT6 flywheel.
  20. For those who want to know: FX100 (stage 1) for XT6 = part# 15-009-hd00; price: $442.00 FX200 (stage 2) for XT6 = part# unknown; price: $598.00 FX300 (stage 3) for XT6 = part# 15-009-hdtz; price: $598.00 all from www.clutchmasters.com Wow, got a good turn out on this thread. Thanks for the quick replies. Some say they slip and some say they won't. I am going to look into the centerforce clutch and see what that is all about and then I'll let you know what I decide. Is there any other clutches out there for the XT6 that perform better than stock? For those of you who go with the stock XT6 clutch, do you buy the OEM version? If not, then which Brand?
  21. For those of you who run the EA82T with high boost or other serious mods, what kind of clutch do you use? I was planning to use the XT6 clutch, but I hear from some that it still slips when running say 14 pounds boost with exhaust mods, cams, etc. I looked into getting a stage 3 XT6 clutch from www.clutchmasters.com, but I found the price tag to be way more than I wanted to spend. It is costs $598.00 for a stage 3 or 2 and it cost $442.00 for a stage 1. The stock XT6 clutch is $209 from them. I didn't expect to pay more than $350 dollars on a performance clutch. Maybe if I was racing I might shoot for the stage 3? So do I put up the cash for a Stage 3 or 1? Is it worth it for a daily driver? Does the XT6 clutch slip badly enough? Should I stick with a stock XT6 clutch kit for $209? What are you guys running (brand, kind of clutch or model, price) and how does it perform? Here is a list of mods I plan to do within the next month or so: TWE Header mandrel bent WRX downpipe 3.0 inch pipe back with high flow cat and muffler delta mild cams spider intake manifold High flow cone filter XT6 lightened flywheel 91 legacy turbo (VF11) with boost set to initially 11 PSI. WRX intercooler with BPV may decide to port the heads
  22. So when can we expect these pipes to come? Have they been shipped? Tracking number?
  23. That is what I was worried about too. TWE should have included this bracket with the headers. I think I will also look into extreme hypercoating the headers and turbo as well to keep the heat from radiating out.
