  1. The xt would make a fantastic daily driver! And a dl version of the xt backseat delete? Too cool! And that "backseat" is useless anyway, except as a package tray or dog bed.
  2. Check and mate! At the worst you have one of the best engines for an ej swap! You subaru boys in alaska are a whole different kind of nutty. I never knew you could check valve seals by pouring water down the intake. Those dudes on alaska state troopers that never have a license have the coolest ea81 wagon and the troopers let them slide that one time if their mom came to get the car.
  3. Thanks fellas I concur. I admit that I thought the spokes looked better at first, but the 80s weirdness needs the alloys, the spokes do look best on the wagons. The premiers are indeed 13s and you're right the trim ring makes the 8 spokes look even smaller!
  4. Single barrel eh? Will a rochester monojet fit? The little one for the corvair might be right up your alley. I bet it does fit because Carter made the carbs for the turbo corvair.
  5. An xt6 in high school? Panty dropper! I had the 77 camaro and 53 bel air. I was all chevy in high school nearly 2 decades ago! Lol! Panty droppers! I packed the bel air full of cheerleaders
  6. You in CO? I have a strut compressor Good work on the axle. Keep it up. Just manny swap the dam thing lol!
  7. I drove her off full boost like the cops just showed up and found out my xt has a front posi! F uck to the yea!
  8. @franbev Heading to the grocery store I see! I get it, dog in the front seat to prevent red light escapes. One other point that hasn't been brought up yet...camper tops for the brat! Brat wins its over, no need for for a YouTube Brat vs. Baja comparo! Lol Best of both worlds? A Baja with jump seats AND a brat with an ej engine.
  9. @carfreak85 Not these lights! They must be a custom job for racing or something... I never thought about how many companies are contracted out to make a complete car. On my Camaro off the top of my head the carbs are rochester, transmission s by Saginaw, Muncie and GM automatics and guidex plastic lenses, and body parts by Fisher.
  10. Pb blast is great, but it's a penetrating oil not really a lubricant so use it to free up stuck parts, clean with a wire brush a soft one like the brass colored wire or a stiff nylon brush. Then use brake cleaner and compressed air then use bike chain lube or white lithium is meant for metal on metal. That's just what I would do, and you're probably way ahead of me judging by the ride you have. pb if not wiped off attracts dirt and I think corrodes steel eventually. Cheers on the easy fix though! Now to drive her like you stolded her!
  11. My 86 came with these, I replaced them with glass ones and these have unique brackets as well. I have never seen these before, no parts numbers or manufacturer stamp. Some goofy obscure companies make lenses, such as guidex for gm, and koito for subaru. Has anyone ever seen these before? Some screwy ladm for loyales or gl with the ea65? Haha Anyway who is building a murdered, slammed rx? Or loyale sedan? These might actually look cool tinted black to match satin black. Or tint around the circle for eyeballs! This pic is from 2015, the day I brought her home. Look at how goofy my camaro was sitting good Lord!
  12. Wow bro, Gertie is extra clean! Cool that you kept the name. Congrats my friend i am quite envious that high roof is a rare bird! And on the 86 motion alloys? Extra dope! Touring wagon is turbo yeah? The dual range is the best 4wd box of the ones i have tried, including the b3 audi quattro with diff lock (amazing) and the awd in the e30 bmw 325ix (Great). Subaru awd (meh) and bmw e53 awd (awful) Of course the ej swap i did helps some, or can be absolutely critical, but a 3rd gen L body with enough power in 4hi is faster than those high end german sports cars in the snow. And on pavement or gravel these cars are just light enough to do a proper Scandinavian flick if you leave her in 2wd. Hankook makes excellent 13" snow tires. Enjoy man! Oh and subarus are supposed to tick when cold. It's called the tick of death! Gertie us certain to draw a crowd at the next car show!
  13. An old pic of my ej swap For my camaro forum i cant find the pic on my phone and i need the url haha
  14. @jdkneppy Your brat is truly gorgeous! Definitely old lady fresh! Cruise control and dealer plaques, have you taken her to a show where your car is looked at by judges? Only real subaru fans would know those aren't subaru wheels haha! They look like factory and if a judge sees it should be a plus to know what else fits from other manufacturers! BMW wheels fit my 77 Camaro! Loll# Painted white and on a factory height car, they look great! Doesn't hurt to have a brat that looks right off the showroom floor, but they remind me of GM rally I wheels. Classic look!
  15. Dope! Do you have the ej swap in your brat and if not, why not the old Pleiades? Either way it looks good I say paint it black.
  16. Boost and rpm in 3d! I love watching the boost bar come at you
  17. How's the project going @Giles? The interior pics I promised like two months ago lol! I have a nice dash for someday... Still on track for the epic japan road trip! Hopefully I'll be showing her soon in all her soon to be primered glory!
  18. I got my xt out of auto purgatory aka my parents place haha! Its been nine months. Yes I drove her like I stolded her. These cars handle so nice! Ej22 swap on deck unless the passenger cylinder head is good (fingers crossed!!!) I want to race these two, 88 audi q90 vs. 85 subaru xt at 24 hours of lemons My poor 86 with ej remains waiting, with the family chariot, 1953 chevy bel air.
  19. Welcome! You guys in Oregon and wa are awesome, but you don't sube as hard as the CO boys! Cheers man!
  20. Oh balls! Not something you wanna see in or out of your "good runner before it was pulled" engine! I would do what you're doing, clean her up and get her spinning proper. Good luck and happy wrenching!
