  3. I was once talking to a subaru mechanic about timing belt replacement, he interrupted me by asking me "do you have a hanes manual?" I replied yes,he replied "good throw it in the garbage" point being, there is absolutely no substitute for a factory manual.
  4. Hello, anyone know who makes the best fitting sun shade, the kind that keeps the dashboard fromm getting fried. I seem to recall having one back in the day that didn't fit well, this is for a second generation brat, it seems worth asking, thanks.
  5. After removing my carb I discovered I few things, the fuel in the bowl was very old, (residual gas in lines left after pumping tank dry), a vacume leak(certainly dosn't help matters) and lastly the float was a bit high. Thanks 87 bomber for the jet size verification it was essential to eliminate that question. The car runs mint now!
  6. It's running rich at idle, haven't gotten any further then that, the amount of fuel seen coming out of the primary venturi looks to be about five times the amount coming out the venturi on my proper running wagon. Fuel pressure is correct. Whom is best to call about replacement jets if these are incorrect, thanks.
  7. I finally got my brat running, webber 32 36 running rich, any ideas why? Thanks in advance

  12. The traditional fit of the axles feel loose on the stubs. You should be counting the corresponding tooth spaces on the internal spline. I say this because the tooth count differences sound fishey.
  13. Thanks, I ended up making some bushing on my lathe, seemed like the the fastest solution, I haven't tried them out yet but it appears they will work well. As for help with transmission identification, that will no doubt serve as helpfull in the future. Thanks again

  17. Just received side seals for 5mt duel range from napa and naturaly they are wrong. Who sells the correct ones?
  18. Looks like I will be going to napa. Thanks much
  19. As far as adjusting the caliper piston in, I've always used a small adjustable wrench using the jaws as a spanner wrench, the piston is to be turned cw (righty titey)
  20. Hello, I just ordered wheel bearing seals from advance auto and they looked nothing like the original, a presumed they were wrong so I didn't take them home, now I'm thinking they are equivalents, any thoughts.
