thanks Dave I will do that. what temperature reading should a properly running engine have so I know what to look for when I measure the head temp.
-
I have had a 1993 Loyale for the last three years. the engine temp gauge will barley move I replaced the thermostat and now it goes up a bit more but nowhere close to the half way mark. what could be causing this! also the heater barley works Any help would be greatly appreciated

Jman1991 replied to Naked Buell's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
pull n save is great I've got a lot of parts there. the Northside location just got rid of most of there old Soobys sadly. I would try the valley location. -
thanks ''Naked Buell'' I'm glad I could hear from someone who has them.

I think its time I replace my struts on my Loyale wagon. I've never done this before. I'm looking at some options online and the Monroe struts look pretty good. dose anyone have experience with these? or some other brand?
-
hmmm, ill check the trans/engine mounts, im not sure what the shifter bushings are though.
-

I think my manual 5 speed transmission is going out in my 1993 loyale. It slips out of first gear and is reluctant to go into reverse. I can't find a rebuild kit anywhere online, dose anyone know where to get one?

finding codes for Loyale!

which one of these in the picture is the ERG solenoid? one is directly behind the thermostat housing, and one in behind the thermostat housing but over a few inches toward the drives side, they look exactly the same to me except one has a black wire connection and one has a white connection. -

thanks again "Dave T" I got a code 34 ERG solenoid. Looks like ill have to head to the scrap yard to find a solenoid... I heard something about an outback ERG solenoid being more reliable and that it will work in the Loyale, dose anyone know anything about this? -

thanks! I will take a look at that tomorrow -
it should go a lot faster then that... my 93 has no problem getting up 75 mpr freeway speeds and its over 200k you have to get those rpms up with the EA82s though

I have a 1993 Loyale standard transmission wagon. and i'm putting a lot of work into it trying to get it to run as best as it can. There has been a check engine light on for about a year now and i would really like to find out the code attached to it. I'm pretty confused as to how to pull the codes... i have the Chilton manual but its very vague... I've also searched the archives here and i still cant find any clear instructions. would anyone be able to tell me exactly how to go about finding the code attached to the check engine light? I could really use some help.

How can I check to see if my Starter is bad?
Jman1991 replied to Jman1991's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
all the wire connections are clean. I left for a few hours a came back and it fired right up. so now I'm wondering what the problem was. could it have something to do with the clutch going out? Or could a bad starter work off and on like that? -
II have a 1993 Loyale. I stopped by a friends house today and when I went to leave it wouldn't start. the battery is good and the fuel pump is good. so I'm not sure why it wouldn't start but I have a feeling its the starter. any advice on how to check the starter or advice on what else to check would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! MERRY CHRISTMAS

thank you for the info "elite master of subaru" so it seems like by what you are saying it would be better to run the vehicle with the O2 sensor but you Said "I think you would be better of without one" I'm a bit confused on this...
