sorry for posting so late. me and greg did have a fun day of wheelin. we took some quad trails and even tried to make our own, well actually we did make our own but it looped back to the existing one we started on. well here are some pics that i took, i won't double up pics so i'm posting pics after where greg's left off.

thanks heep, i was wondering how it turned out. hadn't really looked around yet but thanks for posting. i'm glad that it went in our favor for offroading. thanks to all that voted.

DUDE, thats a sweet looking hatch!!!!! nice day to go for a drive in the hills. awesome pics too. what size lift you have on that and are those 15" wheels and tires? i have an 84 wagon i would like to lift.

Yes there is another event scheduled for Febuary 24th! damn it though its a saturday and i have to work. i will try and get it off though but its unlikely. :-\

ok, well i guess either its not important to people or maybe you are voting and just not letting people know. if so thats cool if not come and vote it won't hurt you, its just a poll. but i just got home from work and there has been 36 views but only 2 votes from this forum both me and heep voted from the post on another 4 wheeling forum. just to let you know if you read this and don't vote this effects us all even if its not in your state right now it could be tomorrow. we need to come together as a whole to keep these places open and to possibly get new ones otherwise you could be lifting your rig for no reason. come on guys don't let the tree huggers win. VOTE

ya, i thought it should be brought to the subaru communities attention to since important to all 4 wheelers. yes people come on and vote this poll will end on the 8th which is monday. SO DON'T WAIT VOTE NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T YET!!!!

hey everybody, this is a copy of a post from the NW Wheelers forum that i everybody on this forum that wheels/offroads should know about and help out with especially all the northern members but also for us southern members. we should all be united in these matters and hepl one another out. anyway this will be ending very soon so help out, i've gone and voted. reposted from NW Wheelers Forum: The Port Townsend Leader is doing an opinion poll on a proposed ORV Trail System in Quilcene. At this point in time the cons outnumber the pros big time. Please take 2 seconds to respond to the poll, here is the link to the PNW forum that has more info... http://www.pnw4wda.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3137 Once you get to the on-line newspaper, you can find the poll in the left column near the bottom. Please, please act on this ASAP. We have been working hard to get more space to play and it would suck to loose this area.

well me and some friends celebrated new years by wheelin last night with our goal being to see the fireworks of portland at the top of goat mtn. (between estacada and colton) at about 4,000ft. we did make but it was a disappointment as the only fireworks we saw was the ones on mt. hood that was being shot off from timerline lodge. they we're pretty cool though it was a clear night and the mountain was all illuminated by the almost a full moon. the only thing you could see around the portland area was little flashs from private individual fireworks which was kinda neat but we we're hope for some big ones from portland but then again from roughly 40 miles away and 4,000 + ft. i guess they would all be small. well as previously posted in another thread i didn't make it to the st.helens mudrun because i broke a stub axle and i did get to disgrace another samuri owner and surprise another cherokee and chevy owner. all in all i broke the stub axle, did some more body damage( broken left taillight, left front side marker light, both of my little replacement front turn signals ( trailer side marker lights i put on when i removed the front bumper) multiple under carraige dents (as usually suffered ) and left quarter panel dent at the taillight part of the same incident. oh and also had the left rack mount bushing slip out which cuase some erratic and unpredictable steering characteristics under acceleration and decceleration. so all in all it was another good time. unforunately i don't have any pictures and it was all at night but a buddy took pictures at the point i broke the taillight but he doesn't think it will be very good so if it is when i get it i will post it. but i will post some pictures of the damage if requested.

well i did it, i broke last night wheelin. but i did make it home also. so i didn't make it to St. Helens today for the Mudrun. but i did get some mud, minor body damage a broke stub axle and i did manage to disgace another suzuki samuri owner ( but he was all bone stock though) all in one night. so to all that might have gone out there sorry i missed mudin with you and hope you had fun too like i did last night. hopefully i can make the next one. oh and i don't have any pics to busy playing and besides it was dark out.

Scoobyclimbs saves four from cold newyears eve!
chazmataz replied to scoobyclimbs's topic in Off Road
Good job Greg. i was up wheelin last night didn't get to rescue anyone though just up having a good time with friends up on goat mtn. seen the fireworks otimerline lodge from the summit at midnight, the fireworks around portland from that distance wasn't as impressive though. but again i too was showing some new people what a subaru can do unfortunately though it did cost me a stub axle and some minor body damage. oh well just adds more character. -
yeah i wish it was for me. :-\ ialways have to work on saturdays and today we had to do end of year inventory that was this morning. but hey, we are closed tomorrow and i'm going to the St. Helens Mudrun, woohoo. Oh and i'm meeting up with some friends and going wheeling tonight our goal is to be at the top of Goat mtn. at midnight to watch the fireworks in downtown Portland from there.

New pics with the wagon wheels
chazmataz replied to jeep5.9litre's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
sweet looking wagon. I've always liked the looks of a subaru in the wagon wheels. as long as i can remember a subaru wasn't noticable to me unless it had the white spoked wagon wheels on it, with them they stand out. i don't know they just look bada** with them on. ok i just can't explain it. again, nice looking wagon you got there, dude. -
i don't know how long they've been doing it, i have know about it for 1-1 1/2 years myself now but can never go because its usually on saturdays and i usaully have to work.
-
i've posted up my subaru wheelin pictures. the invasion has begun. way to go heep. but we still have alot more to get onboard. come on people lets do this.

Hey everyone, just wanted to let everyone out there know that on New Years Day they are having the St. Helens Mud Run out in St. Helens, Oregon. Here is a link to their site with directions: http://www.sthelensmudrun.com/sthelensmudrun/indexx.html I'm planning on going (unless i break something before then ) and i hope to see other subarus out there getting muddy and having a good time along with me.

nice pictures, looks like a fun and cool place to wheel. you must have surprised alot of people too with your brat.

before i lifted my 86 GL wgn. i put some 25.9 (185 or 195/85-13) studded 13" snowtires on to go up and do some wheeling in the snow with coworkers, they had a pretty aggressive tread pattern too. they cleared just fine but i also had the stock adjustable suspension cranked up which gives a little more heigth but its not much. i put some 205/75-14 blizzaks on my 84 Gl wgn. and only had to trim a little on the front fenders, the rear cleared but there again the stock adjustable suspension was cranked up to. just my 1 1/2 cents worth
-
DUDE!!!! That thing is awesome. I love it.
-
Yes it was alot of fun, especailly when it comes to showing other rigs what subarus can do. Sounds good Greg, give me a call. You still have my #? Thanks, theres a couple of climbs i wish we would have gotten on camera but one was a night and the other one we didn't think we would make it until we did and we just kept going up. My lift is a homemade suspension lift, front struts are spaced about 1 3/8" and the rear is about 2". the tires are from Schwab they are 235/75-15 Avon SXT M/T. They work pretty well especially when they are aired down, haven't had a reason to complain about them yet.

i think i switched from the GL to the Dl lights back late last winter or last spring sometime. to me they put out way more light then the old GL light ever did.
