Instead of a stub axle i broke the axle shaft (rear). I was trying to get around a stump going up a slight incline, it was narrow but wide enough for my wagon to go through but the dam root coming from the stump and the hole on the other of it plus the hole on the right side with the rock before it kept pushing me into the stump on my left side. on the first attempt i heard a big bang about the same sound a stub axle makes when it breaks under torque, if it wasn't for that i'm sure i would have made it but with out the locked rear i could only get a taste of it. the old girl wanted to but could quite make it with one wheel under power. i'll get it fixed and will go at it again until i make it.

HECK MAN THOSE ARE JUST BATTLE SCARS!!!!!! they make it look better.

sweet theres the picture of my car catching some air on the hill climb. your swaybar was still in one piece here. heres a little pit that Scoobyclimb found for us to play in.

yeah, i'm in agreement, you need to weld up that diff. nice video though. is that where you had to winch out of? i need to make a trip out there to wagon wheel again and see how its changed since the last time. that place is alot of fun.

What an awesome day!!!! I took alot of pictures but i'm only going to put a small hand full because i don't want to take up to much space. As Jason said we had alittle of everything weather wise and wheeling conditions. the return trip up Hwy 35 and 26 up and over Mt. Hood was brutal but we did take sometime to play again at the White River snow park, we we're the only ones there then so we had the whole place to ourselves. White River Snow Park on the way to Hood River This was a nice play hill I actually got some air time here but you can't see it in this pic but the angle is wrong to be able to see it, i should have done a video plus Coming down an ATV trail from a cell phone tower. A flex photo on the ATV trail A group shot at a small play area at the end of a tight ATV trail and yes another flex photo. And our closing group photo before heading to the Elliot Glacier Public House for some Brews. to bad the mountain wasn't visible like in this photo. OH, WELL!

hey spiffy. the EA81's are almost stock mine (green one) doesn't have a lift but the suspension is cranked has an LSD in the rear and 14" blizzaks for tires. i can't say for sure what TeamCf has exactly so i will let him post his mods. we don't always post our outings up usually its just us PMing each other but we can post them or we can PM you next time we get together. i'm only able to go up on sundays since i have to work on saturdays but i know that scoobyclimbs and teamcf sometimes venture out on saturdays. but we can let you know next time. cheers, chazmataz

nice! glad to here your winch worked out for you, i like how you set that up inside the bumper. looks a little sloppy! i might have to make a trip over to wagon wheel here soon. nice pictures btw.

the lifting and compressing of the front suspension during acceleration, hard shifting and braking (modrate to hard or even sudden) eats them. the constant pulling them apart and shoving them back together combined with the sudden angle changes during those operations named above is not good even with a small lift. my 84'wagon with the suspension cranked with stock adjustment and 14" tires is a little hard on axles not as much as my 86' with the 15" M/T tires but the strain of pushing bigger tires also contributes to axle failure. anything other then stock suspension height and stock size tires will cause accelarated axle failure, driving habits with also aid in this.

nice coating of mud looks good. nice video too.

what times do you usually go out at and how long do you go for?
-
we'll have to get up there and take a look at that area then and see just how bad it really is. its possible the stub could be broken to, if its wiggling .next time you lift it see if you can pry the axle out, if it pops out with part of the stub then its broke. if you had bad bearings it should be making the normal bearing hum unless its real bad then it be making crunching sounds or worst. let me know if you need any help i might be able to come up there all depends on which day. wed. and fridays i work a second job late, usually thursdays i'm off. chaz

so did you put a 2" spacer on top of your strut? mine are spaced at about 1 3/8". when i tried to extend it more my axle hit the pivot point of the control arm while driving, especially when the suspension flexes like when accelerating from a light. i may end up putting coil spring spacers on and trying that someday to. i would like to know what you did and how you did it, i may end up trying to add more again but i have been content with what i have so i'm just curious. hope you get your pictures up soon would like to see them. chaz
