  1. There is a pocket at the front edge of the rear seat , down by the floor, that has an allen wrench in it that is for cranking the belts back. Each B-pilar has an acess hole at the bottom for cranking the belts back. If you pull the trim panel off of the b-pillar, you can unplug the belts motor. Then just use the "emergeny" release button and pretend you're hooking up a 2 point harness each time you get in. Found this post from 2007 by going back to google and typing in 1990 Subaru automatic seat belts. When I tried the same search on the message board, I got nuthin'. Don't the archives go back that far? Anyway I did both cranking and unplugging and now I have 2-step manual seat belts, and I'm ok with that. Took about 10-15 minutes and I'm happy. Always hated those "mice" belts.
  2. Hello all, I have a 1990 Legacy LS. This morning my motorized mice died, unfortunately in the down position. Now I have no shoulder belt. Also I noticed the IP warning beep for the belts and doors isn't sounding. Anyone have any ideas?
  3. Aha! That's why nothing ever happened when I pushed it! Thank you very much for the info and not mentioning how filthy it is. Sheesh I hadn't really noticed till I saw the picture. I know what I'm doing this weekend after I take down the Christmas lights.
  4. I've had this car for about three years now (1990 Legacy LS automatic) and have not been able to figure out what this button is for or what it's supposed to do. The girlfriend and I have been guessing everything from ejector seat to self-destruct control. Or maybe they put it there just to drive us crazy guessing. Anyway can someone please tell me what it's for?
