  1. Finally got the cable installed today. There was pieces of the old oil seal stopping the the part from screwing in. Cleaned out the old & installed the new. Codes gone. Everything fine. Did find info in an old service bulletin #16-60-94 for anybody's interest. Pat
  2. Sorry about the new thread. As far as the cable, My car is a 94 & the replacement cable is from a 91. The 94 has a cable that clips onto the part that screws onto the transmission. The 91 is one piece. I went ahead & just ordered the little part that screws into the transmission as my cable part is fine. I will not get the part until next Wednesday so siliconed a bolt into the broken part & screwed it back to prevent diff fluid from leaking. Thanks for the response. Will update when I get the part. Pat
  3. Per the thread below, I did pull my speedo cable & it was broke. Trying to get the replacement in. Have it seated into the cluster but for the life of me, the part that screws into the tranny will not thread in. It is like it sits up too far for the threads to catch. My questions are has anybody had this & what to do about it? Also can I drive it this way or will tranny fluid come shooting out? I really need to get this going to today. Thanks. Pat
  4. Ok, last night on way home after work, doing about 65MPH on freeway. All of a sudden the speedometer goes to 0MPH & my car just revs free. No drive in any gear but still running. I am coasting & hit the manual switch & now I have 3 gears. I manage to get off the freeway & stop. I pull the FWD fuse I had installed (torque bind issues) and the car drives & shift fine, just no speedometer. About a mile from home the check engine light comes on but still driving fine. I am going to start by checking codes & the speedometer cable. Not sure what the cable would have to do with shifting but it's a start. Any thoughts on this? Thanks. Pat
  5. I am going to wire a switch my next day off. I am still going to do the tranny fluid changes & add the Lubegard.
  6. I have no current codes but when I checked for a previous code I got #24 which is duty solenoid c. I have no idea on the car's history. I have only had it a month.
  7. I have the infamous torgue bind on my 94 AT wagon. I inserted the FWD fuse & the bind went away. If I am understanding right, that means the duty solenoid c is OK & the problem is probably the clutch disks. My tires are all same make & model. My transmission fluid looks & smells OK. Multiple tranny fluid changes & adding Lubegard limited slip additive are also what I am understanding are next. A fellow Legacy owner said he just left the fuse in until it snowed. My OCD is already going nuts at the FWD light being on. Just looking for suggestions or thought on if I am on the right track. Thanks.
