  1. I'm home now!!!!!! :banana::headbang:

feels good to be back in the clouds n mountains!

see you all soon.. i need to rest and service the bike now (overdue for some oil n chain adjustments...)

total trip milage added up today= 4390 miles from Minnesota to Washington, start time june 10 630am, to june 21 130pm!!!!

pictures on the way.. as soon as i can get a high bandwidth host!!

You can free load off my high bandwidth internet any day.

  2. Haha awesome, we both had t-coups, now we're both going to have wedges... scary :headbang:

Of course most of you know I've been looking for another project since I deemed the t-coupe "unrestorable". I may have found it... I'll withhold details until the car is actually in my possession, which will probably be early next week.

the only thing I WILL say however is... "Long live the Wedge!"

('84 t-coupe now very seriously for sale, make offers)

  3. Don't worrie, I'm not giving up on it. :-p

Theres just thoes moments where... I wanna damage something.

I'm doing both the lower hose and upper turbo hose, sense the upper one looks like crap and is only 7 bucks. I'm going to hope nothing else breaks until next month... Then I will replace all remaining coolant lines.

Got my new power steering pump in the mail today too. Well not new, it's used but it looks alot better than the one thats in there now.:brow:

I spent 32 bucks on the special hose with the heat sheilding on it. It better last.

  4. Yeah, the water pump bearing seal on my XT decided to start gushing coolant all over the cross over pipe. Drains the radiator within 5 minutes. Are these pumps anymore trouble than replacing an ea81 water pump? I want to figure out how much work I'm getting my self into before I actually set aside a chunck of time for it.

  5. Ok, I have to remove the center councle anyway so I can put my fog light switch in.

I checked the cable linkage on the heater box. The gear the cable moves appears to be jammed. I can't get it to move very much. I'm tempted to pull the cable cover off and see if something fell in there jamming the gears. This did happen right after I put some wires through right above it for the fog light switch. I found out that 86 XT's don't have the stock places for fog lights, or the fog light wireing. It appears to be an 87 and newer XT thing.

But yeah, Maybe I'll be able to make it down tuesday evening, or sometime. Maybe I can take a peak at the ea81 turbo book you said you have too, and see if I can get the t-coup to run again.:)

  6. I posted this on the xt6.net board, but theres diffrent people there and here so I'd thought I'd throw this out here too see what people think is going on.

My temp control slider has been working smoothly and fine sense I got the car. This is a 1986 XT turbo 4wd. Suddenly the other day, I went to move the slider from the hot position to the cold position. And now it won't go back into the hot position. It feels like the cable maybe slipped, I'm not sure. But it sticks when sliding back to the hot position. It always blows cold now, if it's all the way in the hot position, I can feel like the heater flap is almost opening as a slight amount of heat mixed with cold outside air blows through. I can hear a flap moving when I push it to the cold position, but the slider hits a stopping point mid way through the cool air section, and it will not go all the way forward like it used to. Did something fall apart in there? or has the cable just slipped on me? I'm hoping I won't have to tear out all of the dash to get this fixed.

Thank you for this boards vast knowledge! :)

  7. My new daily driver, I got an 86 Subaru XT Turbo.

It has a push button 4wd 5spd manual tranny, power everything and the A/C blows cold. It has the Digi-dash as well. With a trip computer. Here are some pictures... http://usmb.net/gallery/album279

It has a few bad switches, the high beam switch likes to pop out into the high beam mode. And the mirror control switch has a broken arrow switch. Horn works, but Cruise control doesn't.

Came with a spare center councle wich has a fog light switch in it, it looks like a stock subaru fog light switch. I'm thinking about using the switch for fog lights on the car. What do ya guys think of it?
