  1. newrider3 that's cool Im guessing you welded the center diff?
  2. I got myself a 99 outback with a 5 speed, I pull a trailer with it and it just doesn't have a low enuf gear to pull up my steep driveway loaded down, if I had a lower gear I could do it , I'm not against lifting it and adding a transfer case but the 5 speeds a AWD so I would need to lock the center diff, I could swap in a Dualrange , I would like to lift it 3-6" and add another front diff but to do a 2nd front diff I would need 8" I have a 720 Nissan transfer case and also a Sammy t case anyway just trying to get some discussion , if I could mount up a normal transmission not a transaxle there might be room for a second diff up front with a 5" lift or maybe even go with a diff off to the side , anyway let's talk options
  3. I'm running a similar one, mines rated at 4500. Get a pulley so you can double the pulling power , mine has done everything I needed it to do, your not going to pull out a stuck pickup with it but it will pull your rig, remember the more cable you have pulled out the more powerful your winch will be
  4. EA82 Dualrange 85-88 EJ22 EA82 or newer axles Body is preference, lighter the better
  5. Yes leave it complete, unbolt from the body, raise the body up and rollout the whole front drive unit, it's a lot simpler and quicker, don't even unhook the y pipe
  6. You will like those tires, that's what I run
  7. Your stock 4speed that's in the Brat will work , you can swap it out later, the GL Dualrange is what you want
  8. In the USA , all the suspension and drive is the same , the wiring and accessories may be different
  9. Check here for all the parts http://www.sjrlift.com/index.php/catalog/engine-swap-parts

  13. 14. been on the trails a couple times, thing goze awesome love the power to weight good clearance and tight turning radius , best Subaru Ive ever wheeled offroad https://scontent-sjc2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfl1/v/t1.0-9/12046909_1894695534089339_387143319797217367_n.jpg?oh=c4cadd9cda1deb20cdd7d13d89459175&oe=569DA592
  15. the Impreza has a EJ series engine your car has a EA82, the EJ engines are way superior more power more everything, adding a EJ to your car will make it a Hotrod
  16. looks like you have a 88 DL wagon, if so 2" max is what Id go over stock on the axle lift angle, on the lift kits I make and sell they are 1" over stock on the EA82 and EJ cars and 0" over stock on the older EA81 cars, the older EA81 axles just don't hold up to much over stock, the EA82 axles are stronger with more bell length for more axle movement if you go with a 27" tall tire I suggest a 4" lift, on my lifts (SJR) its 4" at the struts and 3" at the engine suspension and diffs so its a 3" body lift with 1" suspension lift, no need for different axles , turning radius wont be lost as long as your tires don't hit the body, narrow tires with close to stock rim setback will help , hope this helps and keep us informed on your build Scott

  18. Got it, it was the cam sensor all along, thanks guys , it wouldn't start, I installed a different cam sensor and it ran then I reinstalled the original and again no start so installed the new one and it runs good now, it's the engine in my new Buggy, I ran it all day yesterday with no starting issues, so thanks again everyone , you guys are great!
  19. I've narrowed it down to a spark issue, I ran it today then let it sit ,it continued to start up every time every few minutes till it sat about a hour, then no start, checked with a extra plug no spark, I changed out the cam sensor and it started, I then reinstalled the old cam sensor and it also started and ran fine, so now I'm still not sure, but it is a ignition spark issue
