SJR Ultimate offroader project
Scott in Bellingham replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Off Road
been shortened 6" under stock. also angled up at joint to produce more clearance . we really had a lot of fun with this one, took it to the sand dunes , went better in reverse on steep hills, I eventully put a top on it , finished the front and put alum sheet over the door holes and drove it on the road, -
SJRLIFT offers both 3-1/2" and 6" lift , both in stock axle angle or, High clearance , higher angle . for the EA82, working on the EA81 Check out site for details SJR

The SSR 27x9.5r 15's are the ones I just ordered, I looked on line and they want a bunch for shipping, so I called around and ended up ordering them from the local Les Shwab, will be $115 each plus shipping, would of been $550 for a set from 4 Wheel Parts if ordered on line, I have no experince with the tire , wanted the radial as its my daily driver, I like the sidewall pattern on the SSR s , did have a question on rim width , I see they recomend 6.5 - 8.5 " wide rim what would be better a narrow or wide rim? , I have a set of 8" wide rims I was going to use just because I have them , any advice on rim with would be nice SJR

I have this setup on the back, its a turning Cutter brake works of the hydrolics, works ok , wish I had more leverage as it takes a lot of presure to stop that wheel in the air from spinin, I would like to do the same on the front as you mentioned, would be a simple install SJR

Heres a shortened one I made in photo shop, if you do it keep us posted with pictures, I would use a mig welder with .030 wire shielded with 75/25 Argon/CO2 , make it as strong or stronger then stock and you will be ok SJR -
anyone ever run a locked/welded front diff and a open /stock rear diff??, I was talkin with a buddy at work who owns a toyota pickup with air lockers , he says he prefers to lock the front , not the back , says if he could only lock one end it would be the front , any experiance with this? , if so on a strictly trail rig you could weld up the front and put a LSD on rear, SJR
