lift help, too much camber
Scott in Bellingham replied to scubaroo84's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
on a EA81 you will need to beat in the inner strut area if done right to allow the strut and strut tower to come in properly , also the camber looks worse up on jacks, need engine weight and sitting normal to actually see , also a side view of your strut tower will tell us more -

try me again I don't see a email scott at SJR -
wanted to bring this up again, I just did a 88 GL ea82 swap to 90 EJ22 and wired the alt as In my drawing, but the battery volts are at 15.6 with a new battery, so my question is what should the voltage be ( 14.4-14.5) and does this mean my alternator is bad? also I noticed in the EJ harness the white wire on the round plug is hooked to the white wire at the alt. stud Output, should I hook those 2 together just like in the EJ ?

thank You everyone for sharing , This is Scott owner and builder at SJR, and yes I used to make lift blocks in the C shaped lazer cut and bent parts, but I have since changed my design around 2 years ago, I have sent out literally Hundreds of parts and have only had a hand full of complaints , most of the issues were with the EJ front A-arm blocks ,also the first gen EJ 6" lift, those parts have been redesigned Heres a link of how the parts look now. some of the pictures on my site are the old style, as they have not been updated, I guarentee all my stuff , and have updated the design as time has gone by , this is a real narrow nitch market which I am attempting to fill, thank you everyone for helping me improve the products as time goes by, I need your support and imput http://www.sjrlift.com/index.php/catalog/lift-kits/0-4-lift-kit-2000-detail

6 Lug conversion Question. 140 vs 139.7
Scott in Bellingham replied to Subarocket's topic in Off Road
its never been a Issue on the cars Ive run, now Im running large unbalanced mud tires (27-30 inches) your looking at .3 mm difference split between two studs so .15 mm per stud, now as you tighten both lugnuts down evenly those 2 studs will tilt a tad to compensate, when I redrill hubs I use a jig I had lazer cut which acuratly drills the other 4 holes in there concentric proper spot , no Ive never used spacers to compensate inner rim bore- 19 replies

distraction's
Scott in Bellingham replied to apintonut's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I like what your doing, looks like something I would build, want to help where I can, on the rear spring set it up more vertical then try it out once all the weight is on the car, those rear axles are limited on there travel, work within there travel and you will be ok, when do you plan to have it going? any events or outings your trying to make? -
sounds cool, with proper engineering it should work fine, keep the outer bearings close to the sprockets and have good suport between bearing, dont want any flex or chains will pop off, I know from my own experience

I can mill out mine if that's what you want, I run smaller diameter studs into the top engine side so no need to drill out threads
