  1. I designed it that way so the installer wouldn't need to modify the engine bellhousing, Ive received no complaints of bolt strength or failure , if someone wanted the larger bolts I can tap them bigger for you
  2. is that the good estimate 600# , wonder what the complete stock drivetrain weighs,
  3. I would go EA82 SPFI Dual range 85-89 one doner car, up grade to EJ22 if want, shorten it 12-20 ", weld up the diff , make your own frame, I would love to do one
  4. interesting, I have my coupe 6" lift EJ22 its just sitting, what about damage?
  5. been 1 week on this so far, happy with the progress and the results, hope to have it usable within a couple weeks, its been awhile since I went out wheelin, it was last winter up in the snow last time I was out, I thought I had a set of Impreza FWD axles but Ive misplaced them in my shop somewhere, Ill need them when I put the dualrange in, Ill set up the rear and then build the front to match, looks like at least a 10" lift , the rear will get the hatch put back on shortened a bunch
  6. got the rear axle in position, the fronts all hooked up, now for the fun part springs looks like the front will end up with about a 10-11 inch lift to level it out
  7. Heres the deal, on a 89 EA82 it had been sitting and the batterys dead, I jump started it and it ran good, shut it off, battery wont hold a charge ,with key off I go to jump it again but hook up the jumper cables backwards, the clamp made a good spark, I realized what I did and unhooked it, it was only like 3 seconds, now I hook it up correct and nothing works, it wont turn over theres no power to do the power windows, so what should I do? what did I ruin?
  8. mo pics wheel spacer 1-1/2" a side 3" total Outback struts gives more room for larger diameter tires
  9. got the rear springs shortened , these are front Toyota lift springs , these wont be springs but forward links front a-arms will need strengthened plan to add a 3rd pivot point up front and add a brace to the A Arm
  10. playin with springs, this is the fun part. maybe use the stock springs at a angle, looks like they have 5-1/2" travel and with the rear chopped off will be to stiff, so at a angle the travel will be greater , still in the idea fase, maybe chop off them leaf springs and they will act as forward links with flex, will need a ladderbar or something to prevent the rearend from twisting and maybe a panhard bar, will see as this develops
