Every year the family goes camping at property on the Nooksack river here in Whatcom county, the property is owned by my family , this year we are going deeper back and found a nice swimming hole, its all overgrown with brush, small trees, bamboo and blackberries so we need to do some clearing to get vehicles and campsites set up so its time to get the buggy going. buggys been sitting since last summer, when parked it had a coolant leak , and the clutch was slipping, I put in a new battery and fired her up and the waterpump went out and the fan hit the frame, so I installed a different pump and also installed all the belt covers as they were missing, runs good now, the engine was from a 85 so theres no computer and it has a weber, good combo for the trail. here it is all buttoned up with new pump and covers then I removed the clutch and found this, never seen this before, this is what stopped the clutch from working, its a layer of grass, with maple tree seed shells, the grass was from last summer camping running thre the tall grass , the shells were from the mouse that left them in the flywheel housing, I put it in the press to rerlwase pressure and with a screw driver , compressed air and a vacuum cleaned it out, the clutch disc wasn't to bad, the pressure plate was a little groovy but all I had so it went back together,

Uberoo, sorry bout the mishap, glad no body got hurt, if the windshields good, not cracked if it was me I would straighten it as good as I could , chop some of the front off and build it back up with tubing, easier then you think , get anew hood and fenders and the sheet metal will help you line it all back up, I used to work in a Autobody shop- 140 replies

I try to go as light as possible, don't over do it bring the esentuals like, rear axle, rear stub shaft and special tools to install that, a jack and a spare tire and a comelong and a tow strap, remember this is a light car don't add so much stuff it over burdens your car , if you have a tow rig or another vehicle leave all the extras back at camp, or let the guy with the yota carry the stuff , I used to carry lots of water but fixed that problem

So Ive been driving this 2002 Impreza outback sport these last few weeks, I just have 1 key with no keyless entry fob , today was the first time Id locked the car, we had went to town , parked the car and locked it with the inner switch at the drivers side panel, so 1 hour later we come out I unlock the passenger door, then get in to start it and nothing happens, theres a red light on the dash that says security its flashing , after 45 min I figured what to do I turned the key on and off a few times and the light went off and the car started normal , unhooking the battery didn't work, so gurus what did I do wrong? how can I prevent this in the future ?, how does this system work anyway

winch on factory ea82 87+ bumper?
Scott in Bellingham replied to AKghandi's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the strongest points are the spot welded seams, run a bead along the seam and weld to that -
winch on factory ea82 87+ bumper?
Scott in Bellingham replied to AKghandi's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
the 87 has some good steel in there, rip off the plastic cover and make a mount for the winch, the early 85 EA82 bumpers are junk -
a project Id like to do someday is make a engine with all electronic control, no timing belt, no cams just electronic silinoids on all the valves, a sensor on the crank and a few injectors, the valve timing , injection, and spark would be totally adjustable , could have a computer in dash and different preset choices for either lowend tork, highend power, fuel economy and soforth, with sensors on the engine and computer controlled its endless the changes and choices you could have, would be fun to play with
