  1. did you remove the upper hose and pour coolant into the hose to fill the block? seems to help when I had this issue
  2. I am trying to remember, I think the springs are on the side to the rear of the car, the beveled side, not the stub that holds the donut. I will check toinght
  3. so on my 99 legacy wagon, I put the exhaust together after working on the engine. I have a big leak at the exhaust donut. I have replaced it 2X and can not figure out what is wrong. The posts I see make it loo easy. Some you tube video says to put high temp rtv? any tips for when I take a shot at it again next week. Thanks
  4. Where is the sensor at? motor or switch or somewhere else? It goes down fine, all of the way. then it comes back up 1/4 inch and back down several times, then stops and will not work for about 1 minute.
  5. I did not think about it being physical. I was sure it was electric. I will have to pull the door panel in a couple of weeks, and see if I can find something like that.
  6. 99 outback wagon, When I use the auto down feature the window goes down, then up and down about 1/8 inch until it stops, then it will not work at all for a few minutes. If I roll the window down by myself, it will also do this at the very bottom of the travel. Why is it doing this, and how do I fix it? is it the regulator or the switch in the door, or am I missing something else? Thanks
  7. Just hoping that no damage was done from overheating it, We will change the oil and see how it goes. Sounds ok now. luckily no long trips.
  8. After hooking up the pressure tester I found a leak at the upper radiator hose corrected that now it's holding about 19 pounds of pressure for about 5 minutes. Do you think it's safe to put the car back together and drive it again have I found my issue thanks
  9. <script> I am looking at a 10 foot livingston. about 250 lbs. Having issues with getting the forum to work on my computer.</script> <script> </script>
  10. Well $100 is not bad. GD who did you use, I am not too far north of Portland. I will check with the one place in battle ground and see wha they say. I have the missing pieces and was hopping to just JBweld them back on and have it work. I will have to clean the engine really well to make sure that nothing else is broken. it has not ran since the wreck.
  11. So this is where I am on this car. I changed the head gaskets, and it did not last. So I was going to use this engine. The car was hit high by a 4x4 and it mostly curled the hood back and the impact from the tire that made the car look like it hit a tree (from the tire of the truck) So if I get this cleaned off, and find no other cracks, can I be sure it is ok? or do I do head gaskets on the other car again? If taking in for a repair, would I use a welder, or a machine shop?
  12. wow, what a failed post. This is a 99 outback that I am moving the engine into a non wrecked car. It has been hit in the front, and pushed the power steering pump back and broke the bolts out of the block. Thanks
  13. this is a 99 legacy outback wagon. Would that strut cause tire wear if the alignment is good? I plan on replacing all of the tires, but do not want to have one go bad again on me. The car had new tires on it when I bought it. about 211K miles. They are amerigas tires. never heard of them.
  14. took the car in for an alignment. it was out a little, but not enough to wear tires. They adjusted it back in. Also this is wearing on the pass front tire. it is worn across the tread, not on the edges. What else do I look at before putting new tires on it
  15. Can it come out of an impreza wagon? do i need the intake etc? With a loss of power will I see an increase in MPG if I do this to my car?
  16. cost should not be too much. Front or rear? Mast cars the stud just gets knocked out and the new one back in.
  17. So I have this wrecked car, and want to put the engine in another car. What options do I have for a direct fit? Some places say all the way to 2006? Thanks
