  1. im planning to drive over to montana at the end of the month, and cant seem to pinpoint this problem. always runs good cold, and when its warm it'll occasionally run like spoob(sputtering, no accel), but if i floor it for a second its back to running normal. i've clean the maf and replace the air filter, it tested "good" according to the fsm test procedure, same with tps, except i have no shime so i cant do that one part of the test. coolant temp sensor also test's good. no cel's at all. also ive recently replace all the plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, and cleaned the bypass-air-control(its tested good too). I'm not really sure where to go, and it seems thats tps's are 300+ and new maf are 400+(rebuilt are 95, but the company has a reputation for poor quality and im not into that) so i cant just buy the parts and replace one at a time till its fixed. any help is greatly appreciated
  2. thats a xt bumper, im pretty sure. looks same as my xt6. looks good on that brat too.
  3. Mines a 89 xt6. Mines got a lot of bad wiring and some of the POe's have messed with it too. Honestly I just want head lights to work again so in probably just rewire it and fix the harness were it needs it, seems like it may no be worth trying to make 1 good harness out of 2.
  4. so there's a 89 xt in the north spokane pull and save. it's a ea82 and auto, but my engine wiring is fine, its just headlights and the fog lights, and probably the power steering but im going to ignore that for now. it seems if i pull out the engine stuff i could replace the dash and headlight/fog light harness with the one out of the 4-cyl xt. I looked at the fsm and it seems possible but a big pain to do. what do you guys think? any experience with this? also the trip comp is gone from my car so no worries there.
  5. so part my xt's harness is burning out . happened will it was sitting waiting for plug wires cap and rotor, and the injector seals. now ive put a lot of money into this thing since i got it, and when i was driving it it was awesome. well its come to the point i cant daily it anymore, so my current project(70's puegeot 504 diesel) is becoming the daily . i actually have 2 puegeot's, and i know that i either have to get rid of the puegeot wagon or the xt. hard choice for me. some more info on the xt, its a 89 xt6, manual awd. ive got forester brakes and hubs up frnt, along with legacy strutts, out back is lyale wagon strutts, and it has 02 wrx wheels with 225/50/16's. now if i keep it it will become mid-engine as rewiring is a pretty major project, and ive always wanted a mid-engine xt, call it the group b wanna be, lol. what would you guys do? looking for some advice.
  6. so i bought a xt6 with a bad clutch and non-working air suspension 2 months ago. i put legacy front strutts and springs, loyale wagon rear springs. where the hub mounts to the strutt is wider. but i believe thats only the xt6 and the 4-cyl xt's used the ea82 stuff in front. if so you'd want to use the ea82 stuff instead. i did end up using forester hubs and brakes and 02 wrx wheels to clear the brakes. i've been driving this car daily for just over a month now so it shouldnt be to hard. figuring out how to get the air suspension going may be difficult. id sell you all my air suspension parts as spare if your interested, i dont mind holding stuff either. just pm me.
  7. sorry didnt mean it to sound random. good to know the year of change, does that also correspond with the hp increase and switch to variable valve timing? IIRC that was 05 also.
  8. I've seen ez30 with 3 ports per head, i do believe you could get them either way, like you could get a 2.2 with one or 2 ports. the er27 tho are all the same and stupid.... i hate siamised ports. there were some twin port ea82's made and i think if you really wanted to you could make a 3 port er-27 head, but at the same time you'd have more time and money into it then just swapping a eg33 or ez30/36, or a ej20g or ej257... ect.
  9. so i bought a xt6 a couple weeks ago and the gearbox on the wiper was broke... picked one up today from the wrecking yard. I'm gonna take it apart(really simple actualy already did it once)and clean it, replace the o-ring were the wiper arms meets, and use some silicone to seal the outside of the case. not sure what i should replace the old nasty grease inside with, anyone have an idea?
  10. so i may be wrong about this and im assuming that you mean when you lost all gears you mean wont move in any gears. if you mean it wont shift into any gears, then i guess the real question is whether or not it'll shift into the gears will the car is not running. if it wont move in any gear i would think its your clutch thats out and it will need to be replaced. easiest way ive found t do this is by pulling the radiator and then the engine out the hood. if it wont shifts even when the engines off you may(may being key here) have some internal problems with the trans. if it does shift with the car off and will only grind when its on then you are on the right track. last time i had to replace any hydraulic clutch parts i also had to replace both master and slave cylinders, so if your not getting adequate movement id go there next. hope this helps guys!
