I'd say yes. It looks like it uses a tension system to hold the legs in place. I'm pretty sure that it will hold the weight of an SKS, Tapco, ATI, or original stock. I own one(SKS). I know. -Patrick

I actually rattle-canned my whole car('88 GL-10 Wagon) matte black. No pics though, as it is in Texas and I'm currently in California, but it did look pretty sweet. -Patrick

You'd be better off doing as GD said and buying a new pump, versus a used one. They can be had fairly cheap and you get alot more peace of mind than wondering when the used one with X amount of miles on it will go out. And as an added plus, alot of the new pumps will usually come with some sort of free replacement warranty period. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck. -Patrick

I think that I am going to try to make a rear bumper diffuser and maybe some sort of under body panel for under the engine. Also I want to find(which may be impossible) an RX front airdam. Another thing is to try and fab a roof mounted spoiler for the rear, similar to the style that can be found on the mid to late '90s Legacy wagons or maybe one for an Impreza wagon. Something that doesn't stick up into the windstream, but would still help divert airflow passing over the top of the vehicle and direct it downward to pressurize the low pressure zone immediately behind the car. -Patrick

I've never had to replace the wheel bearings on an '80s Subaru, but that bearing doesn't look right. I don't think that the bearings themselves are supposed to be showing like that(it has been a long day and also a long time since I have worked on my GL-10, so if I'm not seeing things right, someone PLEASE correct me). Anyway Markus56 has the right idea. Use the axle nut to pull the axle completely into place. But make sure that all of the splines are lined up, otherwise, it will not go through(as you probably already know). Good Luck and keep us updated. I'll keep checking back. - Patrick

I'm in love with those Vivio GX-R's. I wanted to get one while we were in Okinawa, but the wife was never convinced it was a good car. But she did, however, let me buy a '96 Toyota Glanza V, and later a '95 WRX wagon. Then after that I got a '95 Subaru Legacy GT wagon(twin turbo). That was the fun one. Vanishing Boy, I'm sorry for snapping at you like that. I guess if I had taken a little more time to look at your post count, I would've noticed that you are new to this. I am glad to hear that you got the parts that you need. I guess one thing you might possibly want to include in a post, is that if you have never undertaken a certain project that you may be posting about before, just put in there that you haven't ever done that before. It will keep people like myself, from jumping to conclusions and use a little more patience and understanding when replying. Good Grief! That has to be in mainland Japan. Something that nice would never have lasted in Okinawa(Salt, crazy drivers, tiny, curvy, dark alleys, stray animals that dart out in front of your vehicle while driving down the previously mentioned alleys, typhoons, etc.). Okay, not trying to be a smartalick or talk to you like you are an idiot, but do yourself a huge favor and mosey on down to the local hardware store. Ask for a sliding caliper. Whoever is working should be able to help you locate the part that you are looking for. Now then, after purchasing said caliper(you can most times find some as cheap as $5), go to your vehicle('89 GL Touring D/R 4WD 5spd manual 1.8L mpfi), take some Simple Green, Dawn dishwashing liquid and a little water, the neighbor's dog's tongue, and clean a small section of the sway bar or the hole where the bushing goes, or whatever it is that you are trying to measure, and measure it. Remember, "measure twice, cut once." Basically measure it twice to make sure that you are getting an accurate reading. The sliding caliper will tell you what the diameter of the object it is that you desire to know. Just remember, as stated before by ruparts,"they(the endlink bushings) are the same on all the ea 82 series cars." I certainly hope that this helps and I'm sincerely sorry for the tone of this reply. -Patrick

Here is an interesting idea that I haven't seen mentioned. What about fabricating a rear bumper diffuser for the EA wagon? I mean, from all the things that I have read online(and yes, I know that you can't believe everything that you read) they help high speed (I know that this info isn't necessary when trying to obtain the most gas mileage) stability by channeling high speed airflow from underneath the car and smoothly transitioning it into the low pressure area behind the vehicle. IIRC, I also read somewhere that they can help improve gas mileage by increasing the aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle. I mean, it may not be a huge increase, but I would venture to guess that any kind of improvement to fuel mileage would be another mark chalked in the win column for the good guys, right? It is just an idea. I have been entertaining this since I was overseas, but haven't had a chance to act on it seeing as my car is broken. - Patrick

Why not go with a BPV(Bypass Valve), versus a BOV? If you route it right and use an open air element(Cone Filter or the like), the release of pressure from the bypass valve is still audible, and unlike a blow-off valve, it will keep your engine and ecu happy. -Patrick

I have had many dreams for my ol' Draggin' Wagon, but it died and is currently on life support(stuck inside a storage unit). I haven't figured out whether I want to put another engine in it or shoot it with my shotgun..LOL. I was thinking of possibly parting it at one point. -Patrick

I feel your pain. My wagon died with a loud bang(piston through the block). It was............hmmm, how can I put this,.........unpredicted, to say the least. It will either be back to the drawing board or the car gets the ax. -Patrick

In a word, YES!!! Those two mods make a whole lot of difference(for the better) on the EA82T. The other is the exhaust. Go 2-1/2" from the turbo back and you should be good to go. Nissan/Datsun fuel injectors(from the 280ZX, IIRC) should be a direct bolt on. Also the Oil Cooler idea is a very good one. And like GD said, freshen up the cooling system. Another thing you might think about is addiing a 2 core radiator to keep the engine temps in check. Patrick

Heck, I wish you were closer to Wichita Falls, Texas. I would let you have the heads off of my GL-10, since it threw a rod. I am going to get another engine for it once I get working again and won't have any use for the old one. Patrick
