  1. Sambar's and Sambar vans are pretty common around here. Oh, I should state that I live in Okinawa, Japan. I see more than I care to count on a daily basis, mainly because the housing maintanence guys drive them around. They are pretty neat little vehicles. I'm not sure however, if they would survive very well on the streets of the U.S. They have no reinforcements whatsoever, to protect you in the case that you get into an accident. Other than that, they are fuel efficient little people haulers. Patrick
  2. The only problem is, is that I want to find injectors that will drop in. I don't want to have to make any custom fuel rails or any of that, much the less have to change the resistor pack. I think I'll just stick with the Nissan injectors. Patrick
  3. Personally, really don't think it would matter too much. The OEM style clutches work just fine if you are just looking for something to get you back on the road. Best thing that I can tell you is to look for one from a reputable company. Patrick
  4. Thanks Man!!!!! I really appreciate that info! I'll check into that as he is selling them cheaper than Autozone.com. They are $43 something brand new through Autozone with free shipping because I live at an APO address. But every little bit helps. Besides, I have a turbo upgrade that is more than likely going into the works, so more air being moved will require more fuel. The good part is that I already have a fuel computer that will be going into my GL-10 and also an adjustable FPR that has already been installed on it. So I think with the assistance of a dyno and a good tuner, dialing everything in should be cake. Thank You again my friend!!! This one's for you!> Patrick
  5. Yeah, I read the 2nd one about a week ago. So I suppose that I'll just have to strike out and find some 280Z injectors. It'll probably be a heck of alot easier than trying to get the 240SX injectors to fit and work properly. But there is still that part of me that wonders, "What if........." But Thank You though. I do appreciate a push in the right direction. Patrick
  6. Sssssshhhhhhhibbbyyyy!!!! That is awesome man! And for a price like that, yeah, makes me wanna go buy one!! You've done well good sir! Patrick
  7. My GL-10(EA82T w/ 5spd manual + Fulltime 4WD) gets great MPG, especially on long trips. I drove it down to Dallas in late 2004 from Wichita Falls following some friends to a dyno day event(no I didn't participate). After the event was over, we drove around the Dallas/Fort Worth area for the better part of the day. By the time I had returned, I had only used 2 bars on the digital fuel gauge(can't remember what the measurement is of fuel per bar). I thought that was outstanding! And we weren't granny driving either. Pretty impressive if you ask me! Patrick
  8. Okay guys, I know that this has been covered numerous times before. I am looking at slightly higher flow injectors for my EA82T and was wondering, if OEM 275cc side feed fuel injectors for a Nissan 240SX(KA24DE) will work in our engines? Would it require new resistors? If anyone knowledgeable on the subject could please give me some info I'd greatly appreciate it. Oh, and YES, I did use the SEARCH feature before anyone suggests it. Thanks for any and all help. Patrick
  9. Will, how close of a fit are the 05 Legacy GT rear struts to the stockers? Well, I mean on a scale of 1 -10, 10 requiring the most modification, how difficult would they be to swap over? Patrick
  10. The only thing that I could tell you is to get an uppipe from a WRX and cut the mounting flange off. Then get whatever header you want(that will fit the EA82T), or have a custom one made, and have the flange welded in place. You might also want to have a flexpipe welded into the uppipe portion of the header to keep the welds on the flange from breaking loose(common to stock EA82T exhaust manifolds after adding a custom downpipe and exhaust system). Patrick
  11. Hey, I'd be up for one as long as the price is reasonable. Patrick
  12. I would consider changing the color to red. For one thing, it will look like the STi gauges. For two, the red is pretty easy on the eyes at night. Just my $0.02.
  13. Well the reason that I ask, is because I am currently running a 2-1/4" turbo-back exhaust system w/ custom bellmouth downpipe(crush bent piping), but I am running 11psi of boost and don't know if I am overrunning the capacity of my current exhaust setup. So do you guys think that 3" might be overdoing it a bit? Oh yeah, I have a custom made exhaust manifold(one that will keep the exhaust pulses flowing toward the turbocharger) that will be going into the works as well, and possibly a turbo swap.
  14. Hey everyone, I have plans to change the exhaust on my GL-10 AGAIN! I was just wondering if anyone here thinks that 3" crush-bent exhaust would be too large of a diameter for the EA82T? OKAY...............REPLY! Patrick
  15. Well, as one who owns both a new gen and an old gen Subaru, I must say that I wouldn't trade either for anything. Both cars have their pros and cons, but I love them both for what they are and what they are capable of. Ultimately, it comes down to how well you take care of your car. If it is beaten and abused, it won't last long. If you love it and take good care of it, it could, and I use "could" loosely, last a lifetime. Patrick
  16. I have to second that. Cooler oil, means that the oil can maintain it's original viscosity longer. It also means that vital engine parts are getting a better cushion of oil that will also help reduce wear and increase engine longevity.
  17. You would have to get an oil filter sandwich adapter(fits between the oil filter and the filter mount). Some have barbed fittings that will allow you to use your own oil cooler lines, or the higher end adapters have threaded fittings so that you can use braided stainless steel lines. Patrick
  18. Here is a company for you:http://www.asapmotors.com/shipping.htm
  19. 90's Nissan Sentra or 89-97 Nissan 240SX, either will work. You should be able to pick one up from Autozone, Pep Boys, O' Reilly autoparts(if your local store stocks them), Advance autoparts, etc. for like $8 or under. Patrick
  20. Hi Tim and WELCOME to the Board!!! By the sound of it, you have your hands full with that little Justy. But it will all be worth it when you finally get your finished product. That is when all the hard work, late nights, and monetary investment pays off. If you need any help, there are plenty of people here that will be more than willing to help, so don't be afraid to ask a question. Take care and Welcome!!! Patrick
  21. Hey Brian, as far as I know, the stock gasket isn't anything high temp or high tech for that matter. I used this gasket paper that Autozone usually stocks to replace my worn out OEM inlet gasket. I'm not sure of the part number, but it comes in a roll, and the material itself is a grayish, black color. I think the roll is under $5, but it may depend on the area you live in. Hopefully this will help you. Patrick
  22. So nobody is going for a full fenderwell intake? The coldest air you will get is from outside the engine bay. I just cut a hole into my fender, used a Honda Accord short ram intake(cut into sections of course), and went to work. Mine works great. And the car sits high enough that ingesting water isn't even a worry, well unless I decide to drive through a 2-3 foot deep puddle. Patrick
  23. Well, when you run the lines, there is a hole near the bottom of the air dam on the passenger side. It is large enough to run the hoses through, though you may want to line the sharp edges with something to keep the lines from being sliced. I have a power steering cooler hooked up on my GL-10, since my oil cooler adapter had the wrong threads and wouldn't fit. As soon as I find the correct one, I'll be installing an engine oil cooler too. Patrick
  24. WOW!!! Goodness Steve, you have come very far with your project. Where have I been? I swear this island is like a time warp or something. Anyway, Kudos to you Good Sir for a job well done!!! Patrick
