  1. Well that is certainly good to know. I might have to do that when I return from Okinawa. Mine kinda surges a little at lower speeds(under 30mph). Good info!!!
  2. Sounds like a wheel bearing on the way out to me. My friend Erik's last car(98 Grand Am GT) made a sound like that for about a week before he took it to a mechanic and you know what the mechanic said. He said,"That'll be about $640." I almost passed out. Stupid wheel bearings, always giving up ad stuff.
  3. Cool. I just wondered if anyone alse had any kind of experience with them, good or bad. That is one of 3 filters that I would use(Subaru OEM, WIX, Purolator).
  4. What is it doing wrong? Que es el problemo senor?
  5. Not to change the subject, but does anyone have any thoughts on Purolator filters? I have used them in the past and never had a problem. They seemed to be pretty good filters. I was just wondering.
  6. Well, I would but the wife would probably get super PO'ed if I took the WRX apart.
  7. One word, PB BLASTER(okay it's two, so what?!) This is the best stuff that I have been able to find. The stuff is just awesome! Don't know how else to explain it.
  8. Laura, I would like to take this opportunity to thank GOD in Heaven above that you are ok. I will continue to pray for you and everyone here, people that I know, and those that I don't until I draw my last and final breath. My wife and I will be in Fayetteville in about a week and a half. I'll keep my eyes open for another first gen Brat for you, especially when we go up to Virginia(to my in-laws property). There are Subarus everywhere up there! And I am pretty sure I can talk someone out of one there. So keep your chin up. The pain only lasts a short while, but memories last a lifetime. Patrick
  9. Are we talking SFPI Disty or carbed EA82 Disty? I know for a fact(cause I have one) that a SFPI disty will work in place of the OEM EA82T's disty. I would assume that a carbed EA82 disty would work as well, I'm just not sure how the vacuum advance would affect operation.
  10. I bet I know what it is. I bet he just finished his coilovers and is measuring the height to the ground of the car stock, so that he knows how much the car is lowered, or so he can tell how much lower it will ride from stock front & rear. Am I close?
  11. I hope that she is alright since the damage seems very extensive. To Laura: May GOD be with you in your time of need. Although I don't personally know you, I will keep you in my prayers always. I pray that any injuries that you may have sustained, will heal quickly and that you will make a full recovery. I also pray that GOD may keep you in his ever loving hands forever. I ask this in Jesus's name, Amen. My deepest regards, Patrick
  12. I'm with Will, just like on eBay, BUY IT NOW!!!! RX's are big pimpin'! I wish I could have found one before I bought my GL-10 wagon. Am I sorry I bought the wagon, NO. Would I have had more fun with the RX, there is a probability.
  13. Hey I have a friend who is trying to sell a starion intercooler. I think he was trying to sell it cheap(like between $70-$100). I'll try to get in touch with him and find out for you.
  14. In the past, I have run it in the crankcase of my cars for 3000 miles with no problems at all. But then again, I wouldn't run another can for about 2 oil changes after that. EH, who knows! Your method makes more sense anyway. Either way, SeaFoam still kicks major butt!!!!
  15. Okay, after going over to the NASIOC and doing a little searching, I don't think that I'll be buying, performing, whatever this mod. I think that I'll just wait until I return from Okinawa and maybe invest some money into an Accessport(I think that is what it was called).
  16. I run it until it is time to change the oil. Best bet would be to change the oil, then add it afterwords. But that is just my $.02 .
  17. Well, if you get a chance to go back to Kragen, you tell that fruitloop to pull his head out of his nether regions and actually take a look at a can of Sea Foam, so that maybe the next time someone asks him for info about it, he can get his info straight instead of just pulling something out of the air at random. That really chaps my hide when people just blurt out something instead of just simply saying," I don't know sir. Let me ask and see if anyone else knows about it.", as I used to work at Autozone and would constantly have to get onto my coworkers for saying things like that. Finally after awhile, they just began to refer people to me because I was(and I'm not trying to stroke my own ego here) only employee at my store that actually took the time to read labels, do research, etc on the products that we stocked. Sorry for the rant:cool: , but I just read the label and it says nothing of the sort anywhere on it.
  18. I lucked out. When my wife and I bought the WRX Wagon, it already had the boost gauge and also the SUBARU Performance short shifter with the STi knob on it. I was just wondering if anyone else had heard of the 3/16 mod and as to what the pros and cons are to it. So if it will slightly exceed the stock settings for $10, I figure I can give it a whirl and see.
  19. That's cool. I bypassed my stock FPR all together. I have mine set at 42psi base fuel pressure. The car seems to love all the extra fuel especially since I turned the boost up another psi to 11psi. I've been toying around with the fuel pressure and ignition timing for a couple of days now trying to find the perfect combination since I'll be going to the track this weekend.
  20. The last four out of five cars that I've owned have gotten the Sea Foam treatment. The stuff has been around since 1942, and my dad's cousin(who blueprinted and built his own engine) swore by this stuff. That is how I learned about it. At first none of the autoparts stores carried it. Then one day I was snooping around at O'Reillys and I saw the can that shows mercy to poor, downtroddened engines and promtly bought some. To this day, I have not a bad thing to say about the stuff and would recommend it to anyone. May GOD Bless the people that manufacture Sea Foam! Patrick
  21. Well my first thought would be antifreeze, like from a cracked head. But then after thinking about that for a sec, antifreeze usually leaves a whitish residue on the plugs. I'll see what my Chilton's Manual says and get back to you.
  22. Or you could have it mounted where the #2 stock catalytic converter would go. If I ever decide to go catless and get a test pipe, or straight pipe if you will, then I will replace it with another resonator(large internal dia. glasspack) like the one that is already on the car.
