I just finished rebuilding the engine on my 85 GL, and noticed that the mpg is less then it was before the rebuild. Is this normal for newly rebuilt engines or is there a problem?

I just got finished rebuilding me 85 GL. After putting her all back together, the power steering isn't working. I've tried bleeding it by turning the wheels from lock to lock, but still nothing? When the engine is at idle, there is a slight rubbing sound coming from the pump. Any advice?

It had 203,000. And I had about four inches, and I had to angle it right to get the bolts of the connecting rods. It was pretty easy.

If you can get the block far apart enough to disconnect the connecting rods from the crank,then it is possible. Thats how I got mine apart,then realized I did have a pin puller after.

Didn't have a pin puller, so I had to split the block as much as I could, then disconnected the piston from the crank.

Tomorrow 1-4-17 the soob is going into the shop to start tearing down the engine and begin the overhaul process. This will be my First time rebuilding a boxer engine.

Actually it has very little rust. And here soon I plan to overhaul her and put a lift on her. Along with a custom bumper, winch and LEDs.

Wait I take that back. A couple months ago the numbers glitched out, but its back to normal now.

I have the original Digital dash in my 85 and it still works just fine.

I found out that 1" of lift doesn't really do much 2" and above is probally best.

A friend of mine strapped a leave blower up to his intake on an 87 toyota. Worked pretty well, with some other mods.

If yer soob is equipped with adjustable suspension, you could do that. Are looking to do a complete lift or just a suspension lift?

Hey I'm looking to install a electric turbo/intake blower into my 85 GL. I want to have it hooked up to a manual switch so i can turn it on when i need a lil more boost, for say on the highway. In theory it should work. I just want to know if it is a good idea or not to do this. If it is ok, then what all would i need for an install?

Thanks for the help y'all. I didn't want to start replacing every thing back there trying to figure the source.
