  1. I haven't run it in 8-9 months, but I had it insured and running 2 years ago before moving to Utah. I could go check it out and for you later this week.

    *EDIT*

Fired right up on first crank this afternoon, when I moved it to put a sign on it today. It's classic car weekend in Moab this weekend!

Yeah, it runs and purrs smoothly. What is your story/timeline and how interested are you?

Thanks for checking with me and sharing your interest!

  2. Hey Glwilson, Take ground to top of fender, ground to body line and ground to rear diff and front x-member measurements before and after you install the rear trailing arm brackets.. I'm curious, since I've thought about putting them in my rig, but think it might decrease rear clearance to the diff... I hope I'm not too late ciao!
  3. I haven't run it in 8-9 months, but I had it insured and running 2 years ago before moving to Utah. I could go check it out and for you later this week. where are you and your thoughts for transporting it?

  4. I'd be psyched to see a spare on a swing arm on an iMP!!! Possibly fine on the bumer by removing the bumper skin, bolting/welding the braketry to the bumper andtrimming the skin around that metal to have a clean finished look, but a tube rear would look sick and be functional.. BUT there're these vents beneith the side skirts of the rear bumper skin that are a trick to tidy up once you remoe the skin.... good thoughts on where you're going with this!!! (is it an auto or stick?)
  5. NICE... I have the bracket (as on page 2) as per Gloyale's comment, still on the trailing arm...
  6. SICK!! Actually I've got a pair. I'll bring them up for the rally this weekend, how 'bout that? Maybe a trade for outback front coils?
  7. WORD! Nice lookin' rig! what size tires are those, you're runnng an OB rim there right? Anyhoo, with bikes and a rig like that, come visit me in Moab
  8. Word! Just got yer PM, then checked the thread (now after this rely to look at page 3 ). See you out there on the 27th!! WOOT WOOT!! I think that pic os all rear springs, FOR, LEG, IMP, since it was the rear I swapped out to give more tire room. But if you're going to do the OB trailing arm swap, you should be golden on OB or FOR springs! I have a hunch but not yet confirmed that FOR springs are a touch taller/stiffer than OB springs.. At least that's the hope for my rig. CU at MSP the 27th!
  9. (I think I) PMed you about your "lifted" sedan. I've got a strut-lifted 95 sedan too, just want to compare notes cheers, -mw-
  10. Off this thread's topic but noticing a contributor's ride, you (subimonster) are rolling an 95 legacy L. I'd like to hear and see pix of what you've done to yours. I'm in a 95 L and have done some work too, just curious about other 95 sedan builds. OK, diversion ended AWESOME build on the monster wagon BTW! I'd also like to get more about this build... I think you mentioned a samuri x-fer case, but that's about it... Ooh and lots of axle snapping
  11. I did forester struts in my wife's 93 iMP, and the rear clunking I had was due to the forester shock collar being smaller than the imp SHOCK COLLAR... So i put a fatty washer on top of the tophat before adding the stub nut , this sandwhiched everything nicely so the nut tightened to the washer rather than running out of thread before seating on the tophat... It looks good! Are you using OB struts AND springs?? I have a junkyarding favor to ask, since you're out looking all the time, and that looking is 4.5 HOUR drive for me spring height (as I've found) FOR, LEG, IMP left to right trailing arm height from OB and the stud difference (IMP left, FOR right) nice work, I like the progress!! might you be going to the rally cross on the s7th at miller sports park?
  12. roger that. I was thinking you'd done FOR struts then OB struts into an IMP. Thanks for clarifying your rig was a leggo, as IMP/Forester platforms are a bit different than legacy/OBs. I realize the thread title is lifting legacy on OB stuff but there's been discussion introduced on lifting imprezas (which I helped fuel if not address ). Yes in weight (OB>FOR), but aren't forester springs a bit stiffer. I've read, but haven't personally confirmed, that LEG and OB springs are the same. If so then FOR springs (if not also stiffer) are taller then OB springs (as in my pic above with FOR sping left, LEG center, IMP right.) Gloyale, your wagon looks taller than my sedan ended up, but maybe its the difference in stockish tires that I don't remember on mine (its been almost 6 years on ATs). Looks good and tall, kudos! *EDIT* it is taller! The body line looks at if not a hair above the center of the wheels. That green Leggo is JUST on OB struts and springs, is that right? Nice work!
  13. SWEET!! GR2s or an EA82? Nice!! so wagon springs on newer struts with lift blocks, am I reading/remembering this right?? the body to tire clearance looks nice, and I rmember your axles as being horizontal last time, so probly just a touch less than flat with this lifitng so probly just fine (when remembering my rear axles on OB struts and taller tires..not flat) Anyhoo, good work on this rig dood!! I like the stenciling, nicely in theme with your paint scheme!!
  14. Pix of this one?? I've been interested in you IMP lifting experiences too, since doing mine the way I did.
  15. zyewdall, what is the vehicle? I went back to scan the posts and think you're talking raising an IMP, but still not sure. From my experience (lifting a 93 IMP on 98 Forester gear...) rear? 98 FOR left 93 IMP right and the above pic is the front? 93 IMP left and 98 FOR right and all stock 93 IMP all 98 FOR suspension (strut, and spring, BUT IMP tophats) Mellowed out the rear rake by using 95 LEG springs in rear FOR struts I did not like the rear rake, and the wheel swung forward with the lift. Some just grind out the body and call it good, others swap out the forester trailing arm? I lowered with a legacy spring and got 195x65 15" tires in there with an inch of clearance to the fender and over an inch to the strut above just fine. Could've gone 205x5's but got a good deal on the odd size tires. . . here is 98 FOR strut, spring and tophat with the new IMP tophat for comparison.FOR tophats don't bolt into IMP rear mounts, front does!! FOR upper spring perch and topha
  16. Power/weight ratio . . . priceless!!
  17. Hey JesZek, happy new year!! I finally got around to browsing this thread on the carbed latin-american leggo. Now I've got a question for you, involving some honduran yonkey searching for me. How often do you see latino foresters in yards down there? I'm interested in a latin-american or australian forester 5 speed, dual range AWD tranny. I have communications with a good guy in Australia for one, but I think the cost and shipping might be more than one from central america. It looks like from this thread, that 90 carbed leggo was dual rang 4 wheel not ALL wheel drive? Is that true? Do early 90's latin american leggos and foresters still have 4x4, and FWD, or are they really dual range AWD? I would suspect they are really full time AWD with a hi and low range. I am interested in a dual range AWD and prefer a forester (98-2001?) over a legacy transmission, for the gearing. I assume, but maybe you could verify the gearing, that the forester gearing would be like australia's where it is 4.11 final drive and 1.44:1 low range, where as the legacy D/R/ AWD is 3.90 final and 1.189:1 low range. Thank you JesZek and we can PM for further details, if this kind of searching is something you could/would do. Happy New Year my friend!!
