  1. haha, I just reread this and now I think you were talking about wanting more power from you headlights, not more power than an EJ22. XD for that thought, you can swap(with minimal mod) in 99 OB multi reflector headlights and get more (photon/lumen) power
  2. I think they were forged pistons. It went into a rally car. I think the set-up bumped up around 10:1 (which on a 2.0 turbo would be high... ) plus boost... It was tuned right around 200 WHP but something sick like 280 ft/lbs of torque. the motor did not last very long, other things were probably at play, like bearings. . . . I can get more details. it sounded liek a great set-up but longevity was not a characteristic that played out. I hear the 2.2 heads don't flow as well as the 2.5s and the 2.0 DOHC are good like 2.5s. what questions do you want to know and I'll relay your questions to the owner.
  3. SHH...(my goal is to H6 the Forester in the future.. 8-0 3.0 or 3.3?? :0. . . . .
  4. I'd say 2.5 block 2.0 heads. I know a friend that did that, THEN boosted it 8-0
  5. yeah copy that!! Find an EJ25 (78-110K) and do head gaskets. I think phase 2 is the way to go (post '99). . . I think it's plug-n-play swap for an EJ22. 30ish HP boost for a couple hundred bucks (and time).
  6. haha, yeah it's pretty good!! Idea shopping, lots of questions and some solo figuring got me this far with mine. Uuum, yeah.. No idea what I've got in it... I've never added it up. It'd probably make me sad. Feel free to ask away, I'll be happy to share what I know, figured out and have done! Others here and other forums are knowledgable and helpful too.

  8. HAHA, DUH I says! Now that you say that man, it's all coming back. I totally remember chatting with you through time!! That's awesome!! Thanks again! I think we'd 'friended' or whatever prior to the latest forum switch (or on another forum)
  9. Yes, beware the modification road!! It is a very slippery one young padawon! That dude on your right (3rd from left, w/ white GT or whatev) is HUGE! Freakin' giant ya got there in your club. XD
  10. Whoa Bratman, that's like a flash from the past!!! :-D I think you'll appreciate some of this too ScoobyTSSO23 Mine's ruby Mica too! here's when I got it in Oct, 2003... Then 9 years and a hundred thousand miles later...it's changed a bit! >=] Sorry to hyjack! Carry on as you were.
  11. NICE! Welcome! I too have a 95 Legacy (although quite modified). I've heard of the 2-poc OB headlight swap and just got some 98 headlights (still need to source the turn signals). Is it just a cut and splice (matching colored wires) job, then they just bolt on? Any tips/tricks or photos of before/after? thanks and show off that rig!
  12. Sup dawg?! It's on the calendar! Hopefully that won't change... (crossing fingers) i need to look up the details in your originating post again and verify dates. What are you thinking, one or two overnights? I need to look up the trail and figure driving time and distance(s)
  13. AAND no more hood scoop. But bumper/fairing slits. Ooh well, the more manufacturers get from each other the more everything looks like everything else. . . . it's more towards globalization... like you can find a Starbucks and KFC anywhere, as if anywhere (San Paulo, Santiago, Bankok, Lhasa, Quito, Tegucigalpa(that's for you JesZek , Beijing), is Seattle, Portland or Atlants. As Kurt Vonnegut put it so well, "so it goes"
  14. I'd expect problems. doesn't the Hella box say "for off road use only"? CAN state law ain't an easy one tp get by either, I'd imagine :-/
  15. lemme know, and dates if a Utah trip does come together. Which rig(s) would you bring? That silly idle's got to G O.
  16. Is that really enough support (one bolt ber side on a round bar) for an off-road strut tower brace? I've been minimally thinking of building one for my legacy, and if yours is stout enought that looks like a slick way to go, but I have reservations. Or is it a temp fit with reinforcements coming?
  17. What is the steering rate (and lock to lock) of a 99 Legacy GT? My 95 legacy L repair manual indicates 16.4 (3.2 L to L), but I'm told the GT is quicker than OB and Legacy. curious. THX -mw-
  18. Props!! Similarly, I've swapped a dual range transmissoin into my leggo, but it's a FT AWD Aussie D/R. Pulling the Transmission was the biggest job I'd done yet, so I think I can empathize with your trepidation AND elation!!
  19. the compilation of an AWD Scoob on Moab's Lockhart Basin trail
  20. Update for 2013: AUDM D/R 5MT with 4.11 FD and 1.447:1 low 1" angle iron welded at pinch weld (aka subaru sliders), ads regidity and protection new paint and vinyl (some pix new others a may be repated from previous years AND capability Lockhart Basin train IN AN AWD SUBARU, 100% factory subaru suspension and drivetrain!
  21. Hmm, hadn't heard that one. guess I didn't know the 2.5 came out pre 96. . . This is a good story thanks for sharing!
