Jack in Norfolk replied to Jack in Norfolk's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
Very very cool!!! Look at the aggressive tread on those tires! Also, check out the two drip pans on the floor, I guess oil leaks are nothing new. ps- in what city is the Subaru museum locted? -

Jack in Norfolk replied to Lesbaru's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I used to have to put a magnetic sign on my wagon to deliver pizza in college. It never scratched the paint, but I still wouldn't trust the magnets. -
Yeah, it is very bad, but there is really no excusing the aztek.

welcome to the board. I was going to say a blown head gasket, but it sounds like you are getting better advice from the others. Enjoy your subaru! -

Jack in Norfolk replied to sanjuanworm's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Nice car! Where in NC are you? When I had a wagon I had 185/80s on it. They looked good (filled the wheel wells nicely) and when you let air out of them the do well on the beach. Although I guess you risk breaking the belts driving around with them deflated. -

Jack in Norfolk replied to Meeky Moose's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Smile, be polite and have a good lawyer. I'm telling you its the best way to go. So what if the guy's a jerk, that's his prob, not yours, right? When I went to JMU I used to get pulled at least once a year doing 80+ (in a sube wagon so that was really impressive, or dumb depending on how you look at it.) Long story short; I have no moving violations on my record and I never have. Now, the undercover explorer, that is one I have not seen yet. Thanks for the heads up. The one that catches me off guard down in this part of the state is the Chrysler sedan with blue lights on its back shelf. Watch out! -Jack -

Diff lock plus dual range? Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that subes from the factory got one or the other.

More CAlifornia Smog Drama
Jack in Norfolk replied to TheSubaruJunkie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
How come the governator wasn't called to testify on that steroids commision that they recently had in DC? With his new political career and his first hand knowledge on the subject of steroids it seems like a perfect fit? -

I went to school in Harrisonburg and I was told by the old guys that you used to be able to see the Capitol Bldg (in DC) from the top of Massanutten Mtn on a clear day. We have the most frontage of the Chesapeake Bay and we spend the least to clean it up. New York and Pennsylvania both spend more than us! Its ridiculous. -
