  1. Thank you all for your help after driving it a few weeks myself with no issues, my fiancee started driving it again and on saturday it threw a check engine light. I was able to get it read this morning and it has a crankshaft position sensor throwing code. I bought the replacement part but could use some advice as to how to replace it. Any info you guys could provide would be very helpful. Thanks cwerst
  2. The alternator was my first thought when she was having starting issues, so I had it tested before and after I replaced the battery and it was good. But as far as the CEL/MIL light, I haven't noticed it when driving and she hasn't mentioned any lights on before either. I've also checked fuses but that is the limit of my knowledge of electrical issues. I know to check the battery and it's terminals, alternator, and fuses. It seems that everything in the cab and on the exterior work fine from an electrical standpoint but the engine is different and I am lost.
  3. Hello, My fiancee has a 2011 Legacy 2.5i and she as been having issues with what I am assuming is the electrical system. About two months ago she was having issues with it not wanting to start after having been sitting for 8 hours while she was at work. We took it to the local dealer and they inspected and said it was the battery. So I bought a new battery and put it in and things were better for a time. The starting issues have returned and today she was driving, luckily just waiting in a turing lane, and her car died. She said all the lights lit up and then it just died. No sputtering or anything it simply died. After being pushed out of the way and waiting a couple minutes her car started and made it the 6 miles back to our place from in town. I have done some research about the starting issue and what I've read suggests that the engine isn't getting fuel to it. But this dying in the middle of the road thing has me lost. I'm not the most knowledgeable guy especially with Subaru's. Any tips or solutions to her issues would be very much appreciated. Thank you, C. Werst
