So here it is! Got a 94 loyale with a ton of miles on it! I will say this was a absolute find! I went and got it checked out by a mechanic and he said some oils leaks and a small water pump leak. Other than that the suspension and engine checked out great. Also with the car came a massively lengthy service history dating all the way back to 2000. In the past 10k miles is has had the headgaskets replaced, fuel injectors , and new timing belt. Super excited about this and am looking forward to sharing the progress of the car. I also offered him $700 and he accepted. So this was a great find for me. Now just looking to do a 6 inch lift on it....... (Cant upload photo)

Damn you are a beast. I admire that you are able to do the work yourself. That has always been a goal of mine is to get better with mechanical things. It is hard for me to be so analytical and process oriented so it would be extremely challenging. I ended up getting a 94 loyale! About to post some pics of it

Hey Everyone. I currently am working full time and commuting about 50 miles a day. I have a car that i use for my daily drive but have been really bummed about putting the extra miles on my DD over the weekend. I am looking to get a adventure subie for the weekend. I live in Colorado so i am always up in the mountains. I do go lightly offroad (nothing crazy) just to get to hiking trails. Im wondering what peoples opinions are on the ej22 legacy (1990-1994) or the ej22t? Im looking for something relatively low rent that i can beat up. Does anyone know if the first gen legacy turbos are reliable? And any subie recommendations are welcome! Thanks everyone.

Hey there. Is it the tan 2 door wagon? This is the same car I am thinking of I admire it all the time. When you're going through Lyons when the Road splits to take right to Estes Park and a left to go to Allenspark go left. Drive up the road about 300 to 400 feet and on your right side of the road the car is parked there. I believe he has another crazy little Subaru there as well. If you drive by and see it right me a message back and let me know. The thing is insanely beast!

So i went and test drove one earlier and it was great! Only issue is that i heard an interesting noise coming from the engine. It was just a little clicky. It didnt quite song like rod knock. One of my friends said thats just how the engine sounds. I made sure to rev it high but no noticeable knocking. Any thoughts?

Hey Everyone. I have thought a lot lately about potentially downgrading my car (significantly). Currently have a 06 wrx which is great, but oh my goodness does it requires a lot of attention. I talked to a subaru mechanic about older models and he steered me away from models like the old GL's and Loyales simply because their parts are getting harder to find. He did say that the Subaru Legacy L's are really fine cars. Anyone have any experience with these? Obviously i am aware that buying a older high mileage car has it's risks but i am really just looking for something that doesnt have to be pretty, it just has to be really reliable. Any input or experience with this would be greatly appreciated. Also this would be a colorado commuter car so it's going to get beat on a bit if i buy it.

Absolutely sorry i forgot to mention that. right now i have a 2006 wrx wagon , lifted with king springs , and 225/45/r18 wheels. Its a more aggressive performance wheel set up (bought it that way). I was going to do a 4 inch lift and then probably get 15 or 16in wheels with fatter tires on. Im so curious about these lifts because of the engine factors. I have a perrin pitch stop mount and also a cobb sf air intake. I don't know how lowering the engine would affect these so I'm trying to figure this all out before i do it. Another option i am looking at is a sumo parts 2 inch lift. This seems a little more economical. However i plan on having this car for a long time and want to be able to do a lot of trails colorado has to offer. I also appreciate your prior response man.

Hey all. I have been asking around on some forms about the SJR lifts. They seem great. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how much/long this would usually take a experienced mechanic? I am aware they some parts need to be modified and of course it would be different for each person. Anyone have any insight on this? Thank you!
