  1. i'm still trying to figure out the motors. but the bodies...trust me here. The 1991 i posted (front shot) is my best friends car. it is definately a 1991 the other pics are definately a 92 92 was the body style change
  2. hmm..interesting.. this is my friends 1991 Legacy Turbo and this is another club members 1992 Legacy Turbo different headlights, side markers, turn signals are no longer in the bumper (moved to fender infront of doors) and 1991 Leg Turbo Taillights and the 1992 tails
  3. carfreak...trust me man..i've had these motors apart. Also.. why do you think that the 1991 Legacy had a different grill, corner lights, tail lights. that kinda thing. if you look up the part #'s for these cars engine parts, they aren't forged. BTW. there is enough room to change the clutch by just sliding the motor forward. You need to remove the rad. I did it about 3 months ago
  4. nope 1991 was the only year with the VLSD. 1991 also had the better motor. 1991 had the Closed deck block, with Forged Internals (rods, pistons, crank), and oil Squirters. 1992 got that crappier parts BTW..if you look any of the part #'s for that stuff up they come up exactly the same
  5. i'm saying PIG in terms of weight. they don't like to be thrown around too much, without a good suspension set-up. I know this, because we have a 91 Legacy Turbo 5-spd as an ice racer. Doesn't handle all that well stock. Find a set of struts and springs from a 2.5 RS and you are golden though. You will find that the 3000+ LB weight will start hurting you.
  6. you might want to check into your price for the clutch kit. it is specific to the Legacy turbo, and is usually fairly expensive even when you can find one. Yes...getting the tranny off the car is a bitch, but i wouldn't pull it.. It's like 100 times easier to pull the motor forward a couple inches and slide the clutch in. Pulling the tranny when you don't have a hoist is PITA! the trick with this tranny is the pin for the clutch fork. You need to remove the starter, and there is a pin which you thread a 6MM bolt into, then pry the entire pin and bolt out. The Legacy Turbo uses a PULL type clutch. that is why. BTW...your gonna find these things are a PIG!
  7. look in the first couple pages..there is your turbo/intercooler set-up good for about 50 hp adding i'm guess. i'm estimating...with a conservative tune for the street on 94 Octane i'll make 110-115 hp. My car weighed 1751 stock...but now it has NO sound deadening insulation of anykind, no carpets, no back seat, and a hole pile of redundant crap missing. I'm guessing it's around 1650 ish...I could get it less with Racing seats (have 2.5RS seats now), and go more cammo with stripping (door panels and stuff). I've done the calcs.. i believe my car with it's turbo set-up should smoke my friends legacy turbo (3100 lbs and around 200 hp now). Should stick with a stock WRX, or an SRT-4 for that matter. and gladly...i'll actually be borrowing a G-tech next week so i can get some idea. but it will be dynoed when i get some cash in the summer.
  8. I drive EA82T powered XT's, Coupes, and Sedans ALL winter long. They are all race cars...stripped right out, and running 15PSI of boost, open filters, and 2.5 inch turbo-back exhausts with no muffler. Yes..they are quick... BUT!!... you are on crack... As viehmann just stated...the gearing in the justy is ridiculusly short...redline in 3rd gear is like 110 kph.. Power to weight is everything man... you might have 50 hp more...but also weigh more than 1000 lbs more.
  9. stock weight on my justy is 1751 lbs. and 63 hp. with the carbed motor. The EFI motor i installed has 70 hp. and weighs the same
  10. what kinda filter relocation kit you using... I want one not so much for cooling...but mine is right around the back of the engine, and a pain in the rump roast to get too
  11. i think my justy will tear your hatch, or even a Turbo EA82T powered car a new one. I think i'm making like 110 hp. and it weighs 1600 lbs.
  12. back then. there was NO relation between a Suzuki/Geo whatever and a Justy. None at all. It is a COMPLETELY different design. i got one that might make some friends... From the outside [/img] From the inside
  13. try this....although you will all be envious. On my justy i have a rear handbrake. And i'm going to use another handbrake switch, so when i have it in 4wd, and pull up on the e-brake for a hairpin, it will pop into 2wd and lock the rear wheels, when i release the e-brake it'll pop back into 4wd. Just like the WRC Cars....but in a justy....a turbo one at that
  14. yes...it is VERY tight...but will go. and seal fine. I just tapped the one in my justy for 1/8 NPT. I t-ed off it for a oil feed for the turbo, then Autometer Gauge, and for the factory idiot light (also a warning light below the gauge) Works perfectly. and no leaks
  15. you don't need an adapter. The Subaru Pipe thread is VERY close to a 1/8 NPT pipe thread.. just thread in a 1/8 NPT tap, and throw in some plumbing fittings from home depot. That what you can keep your factory idiot light, and install a mechanical gauge.
  16. does anyone know the flow on EA82T injectors?? in CC/min?? I have some lieing around and am wondering if they are better than the Justy injectors interms of flow. Anyone know how to get the injector flow rates also?? The FSM doesn't really tell me
  17. nope.. the car used a Map Sensor. I'm making the MAPHACK circuit to keep that under control
  18. hmm timewise..it was about 2 solid days. We had to make a manifold and downpipe from scratch, This also involved cutting the 3/8 plate with a sawzall, and drilling the holes with a hole saw. The manifold flanges needed to be cut, along with the turbo inlet flange. Then had to screw around with all the pipes, and the collector. Then weld them all up. I need to do about 2 hrs work, and then i'm gonna fire it up
  19. yes that is the intercooler. and i'll be breaking out the sawzall on monday
  20. just needs a few odds and ends.. if i had a couple more hours tonight (need to leave to go ice racing) i would have it done, and we'd be ripping up civics all night
  21. Well, after months of planning, talking about it, and brief moments of being engulfed in flames... it's done! Yes Gary and I are delirious after about 3 days straigt of being in the garage, but I survived... as for Gary, well, see picture 5. It's not been driven yet, but that should happen early next week. For now here's some eye candy. Intercooler and krap... turbo hiding behind the grille. mostly the intercooler, ended up using a swift i/c. and again... no intake pipe, we're going to see how it runs with just the filter on the turbo inlet. And like I said... Gary... well he's Gary... propper fcukt.
  22. i should try and get a little video or something of our race cars. They are all Xt's and stuff, but run a rull 2.5 inch stainless system with no cats, and just a 6 inch long resonator where the stock muffler should be. They are a little loud, but sound SOO good
  23. the problem is that the gear fluid does not flow in the transmission, the back half of the tranny has no oil sitting in it, and it's simply a "splash" feed. So running without gear oil...makes one heck of a mess
  24. Would they do Custom Grinds? Wondering if they'd grind a cam for my justy.
