  1. pop the cap off the Disty, and take a piece of emery cloth to the terminals. Clean them off so they are shiney. Try going to a colder spark plug. What kind of gauges you have in the car?? EGT?? Air/Fuel??
  2. i'm running Falken ZEIX-502's in the summer in 175/60-13 good tire.. and very close to stock size. they don't rub anywhere. I have them on 87 Celica Rims that i painted gunmetal grey. here's a pic
  3. yeah..15's might fit, the problem is that you can't find tires to fit them. going to 14's is enough of a challange. as there are NO properly sized tires. Plus there really isn't enough room in the wheel wells to put a big tire in there. As far as exhaust goes....Somone could just make something up really cheap. I think i now have almost all the parts i need for my project. I'm aiming to do it in a couple weeks. I've got Brown Top Ford Injectors on the way. Now i just need an intercooler. I think part of the reason this Turbo Justy was the Exhaust manifold. It looks like the tubing is about 2 inches, which will flow alot of air, but not have much velocity. When i do mine i'm gonna make the manifold tubing small, so i get more air velocity and it will spin the turbo up really nicely. Just make the tubing the same size as the exhaust ports coming out of the head. Which i think is about 1.5 Inch Tubing. It should make the turbo spool up much sooner There is no reason it shouldn't spool up well in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear.
  4. i'm working on it. I think i've sourced a Turbo. From an EA82T I'm working on Injectors. I'm thinking that Mazda MX-6 Turbo Injectors will work, and plug right in. I'm still trying to find an intercooler
  5. hmmm....it blew up huh?? that completely sucks. See i just rebuilt the bottom end of my Justy Motor, and didn't touch the top end, as the bores still had the factory cross hatching on them. It has all new rod bearings, and main bearings, along with new gaskets and stuff. I would be interesting in buying the entire "kit" basically. turbo, manifold, intercooler, piping, intake spacer, injectors....that kinda thing. Although i could build my own also...i dunno.. I've been dreaming of a turboed justy for years. just haven't had the means to get done until somewhat recently.
  6. yeah those brown tops flow like 360 cc's.... how do i find out what the justy injectors flow?? is it in the FSM??
  7. seriously??? i happen to know where there are 2 XT6's just sitting there. they might now be missing 3 injectors. I wonder if the XT6 injectors have more flow than the stock justy ones. must get some money together....must turbo my justy....reading week is coming!!!!
  8. dammit...someone did it before me. Now..where to find Ford Browntop injectors??
  9. duct tape made a perfect mold for everything i did just wrapped it right around the metal bits, and left the top open so i could pour it in.
  10. i used the same type of stuff. You can actually get Moldable Polyurethane from a plastics supply place. I think it's called Flexane, and is a 2 part urethane. Mix it together, make a little bit of a mold with duct tape, and pour in the urethane. leave them for about a day and they are like Hockey pucks. I did the same thing in my justy. But i did all motor and tranny mounts. Now you can grab the top of the motor, and reef on it as hard as you want, an dit doesn't move an inch. You can actually move the car by reefing on the motor. Only downside, is at Idle the hole dash and stuff rattles a little bit. But that's ok
  11. guys...in the summer, i'd thin the coolant WAY out probably 25% antifreeze, and 75% water. Then use some Redline Water Wetter. This stuff will add anti-corrosion properties that you need, and also make your car run cooler. last summer, i was running 50/50, and dumped in a little bit of water wetter (1/8 of a bottle), and noticed a difference on the gauge (stock gauge)
  12. on snow and ice, it's going to understeer fairly bad. In a straight line, it'll hook up and go. To get it turned you're really going to have to pitch the car into the the corner and drive it sideways.
  13. how much hood clearance are we talking about here?? are people not able to replace this piece with a piece of pipe when installing an intercooler??
  14. if i can find an intercooler that will work in the next 3 days that is cheap enough i'll do it. apart from that, It's minus 30 up there, the air is cold enough
  15. I'm sitting there working on my ice racer, and looking at it. Thinking...this "4WD Turbo" intake plenum can't flow that well as it's rectangular and flattened. Now i'm not intercooling it, but is it worth building up a new pipe that is round to replace this thing?? Is it gonna flow better?? I'm already ditching the Airbox, and installing a cone filter. i also have a re-circ BOV off a Legacy Turbo which i'm thinking of throwing into the mix. Am i gonna see any HP's from replacing this thing??
  16. what did you do with the old turbo motor?? I'm working on a turbo kit. but it would be better to have somethign i know works. Would you be willing to sell the turbo "kit" as a whole? (manifold, turbo, piping, and all that kind stuff) if you want. please email me at thefastone121@hotmail.com i'd like information on the fuel management and stuff on the turbo 3 cylinder.
  17. i have 2001 2.5 RS seats in my justy. It did take me a while, i had to take them all apart, lower the seat on the rails, then make all new brackets. they are really nice though, and you can get a set for around 200 bucks CDN. here's a pic
  18. try clutchnet.com i think they will make you a clutch for 85 bucks USD. Much better clutch then stock. We put a 6-puck racing disc in my friends Legacy Turbo which cost 125 and he lvoes it. it has NO slip at all.
  19. not positive on price as we are still setting up, but we are aiming to sell the muffler section (with polished stainless muffer and piping) for around 300 cdn. The downpipe we'll have to figure out.
  20. If you'd like... i have the jig to make a cat-less downpipe for all EA82T Cars. It is all stainless steel, and whatever tubing size you use (we use 2.5 on our race cars. a catless downpipe will yield a nice increase in horsepower. and make it a little bit louder. If you aren't affraid to go loud, we can also make you up a complete exhaust system. Cat-less down pipe, Mid-pipe (with cat if you wish), and a nice Performance Muffler in the rear. Will all bolt up using factory hangers, sound good, outlast the car (stainless) and give you a nice hp increase
  21. yes.. the 87 and up EA82Turbos came with a different cam. You ever driven a pre 87 motor, and a 87 and up motor?? Ever notice that the 87+ motor will pull to like 7,000 rpm when the pre 87 motor runs out of steam at about 5,000rpm?? it's a different cam. The pre 87's had basically the same cam as the N/A cars. However the newer motors has a cam made for the turbo. Drive one...then you'll believe me
  22. the 87 and newer turbo cars had a different set of cams.
  23. i'm thinking that if you are seeing a rise in water temp, i'm guess it is going to almost full lean. I just installed an Air/Fuel gauge and EGT gauge in my car, and it does make a world of difference. You can now know what is going on in there, and get it worked out. what you tried pulling the plugs and see what they look like?? We actually had this problem on one of our Ice Racers. We'd be pulling hard in like 2nd gear, then the car would just fall on it's face. It wasn't boost cut, it would just sit there and stop. You'd have to push in the clutch to try and get it to come back to live. We changed everything, Plugs, wires, cap, MAF, Computer, Distributor. EVERYTHING. and it still does is occasionally.
  24. if you get it that hot. I'll bet money you gonna blow a head gasket, or you did and that is why you blew it. they just don't get that hot for no reason. We've also melted a channel in the block instead of blowing the head gasket where they always blow. I seriously couldn't believe it. but there was like a 1/8 deep groove from the water jacket on #3 to the combustion chamber.
