  1. it could also be a faulty spark plug and/or ignition wires, it surely sounds like one of my subarus that had a bad plug and the car wuld not move.
  2. ok well i re installed the TB within 1 hour and this time i got the timing about 1 degree off, she's running better than it was before i changed the timing belt. well when i first put the new TB in the timing was of by 15 to 17 degrees!!!!!!!!!!! thats why it was consuming gas and pinging. I got a CEL light after i reinstaled the TB but i erased it with my OBDII scanner. well now its all good, remember guys the m,arks must be exactly where they are supposed to be. cheers Neo
  3. Hey Carl, I tried the string of paper and resetting the ECU with the OBDII scanner reset, i guess what leave me off to do is to redo the TB job. neo
  4. nahhh its just the pinging noise that irritates the crap out of me and i'm getting 50 miles less per tank. so i as soon as i get it done i'll let you guys know what happnes. neo
  5. okies i will do it saturday, do you guys think it will damage anything else if i continue to run like that until saturday?

  7. hey guys i changed my timing belt this past weekend (95 LEGACY LS). but now i have a pinging noise and a high fuel consumption. Could it be that i left one of the cams advance a little? hmmmmm i'm puzzled
  8. nahhh its your ignition key cylinder, that happned to me with 3 different subarus, try to use a different key, your key may be worn
  9. or try this, i used same nozzles from another subaru, total project price was $0, thos are small parts that you can put in your pocket in the junk yards
  10. ECU is located under the carpet by the front passenger foot area, lift the carpet and you'll see a metal plate, remove that and the ecu is under that plate... .... good luck Neo

  15. i've had subarus with 130 - 150k miles with the original tb! well my last subaru had 93k on the clock when i did the tb. between 80 and 90k miles will be a good time to do it.
  16. 1 if it is oil it is definetely the cam seal on that side, also check the valve cover gasket. 2 green stuff in that area.... hmmmm it would be the Water Pump gasket, white replacing that gasket go ahead replace the crack seal cam seals and timing belt. good luck Neo
  17. hey guys as of wednesday i've been using the brat as my primary vehicle back and forth to work. Today it was acting up, when i drive on the highway for about 15 mnts and stop the idle is really rought it feels like its misfiring and then goes away after about 5 mnts. any ideas? Thanks Neo
  18. yup thats exactly what it is, dammit here i go spending another 100 bucks to fix a axle. hehehe
  19. i couldnt be the tires i just had them rebalanced and pug wheels on. as far as the axle nuts they are pretty tight, i just did a all around brake job. then again i have a bad axle in the passenger side that clicks. vibration happens when i'm cruising at a speed ie 45mph or 55 mph even 60 mph. could it be the bad axle? Neo
  20. Hey guys This morning i decided to take my brat to work on a 30 miles journey down the parkway. Everything was fine but the vibration on the steering wheel. it kinda came and went away, when i t was vibrating it felt like a unbalanced tire and then got smooth again, what it can be? Thanks in advance Neo
