I was told the head gaskets look as though they are leaking or will eventually have problems. What does "put away" wet mean? Thank you for your response, it's helpful.

I just bought a 2002 Impreza WRX for my college age son. He drives about 1300 miles a month, mostly freeway. How reliable is this car for that kind of driving?
